🧼 From trading screens to soap making

A big thank you to the Citi HK volunteers for spending time with us and supporting this meaningful initiative.

Taking a break from the trading floor, Citi colleagues helped transform recovered soap into new bars that will be distributed to underprivileged children, supporting better hygiene in the community.

We’re grateful for the team’s enthusiasm, creativity and hands-on support—it’s a great example of how small actions can make a difference.

🌟 Leading by example, from the boardroom to the soap press in South China! 🧼💼

On June 10, Marriott International South China Business Council hosted the "旧皂新生，再造美好" event at Sheraton Guangzhou Tianhe Hotel, in partnership with the Soap Cycling.

It was inspiring to see Marriott senior corporate leadership and 10 GM of Marriott hotels in Guangzhou roll up their sleeves to scrape, melt and pack soaps by hand.

Their hands-on participation perfectly embodies exemplary leadership. Nothing is more heartfelt and meaningful than seeing leaders personally join the recycling initiative to support disadvantaged communities.

This impactful collaboration means far more than diverting waste from landfills. Working alongside with Marriott, we utilize the soap recycling platform to deliver profound social and environmental benefits. Discarded soaps are repurposed into practical supplies, helping promote equal access to hygiene resources across the region.

We sincerely appreciate the long-standing support from Marriott International South China Business Council.

Currently, 88 Marriott hotels across China have joined this soap recycling program. Hand in hand, we are forging a more sustainable future for the hospitality industry.

We are incredibly grateful to the amazing volunteer team from InterContinental Grand Stanford Hong Kong for joining hands with us! As one of the unwavering partners of our soap recycling programme, their ongoing commitment helps drive real, sustainable change in our community.

During our recent session, we had the wonderful opportunity to share more about our recycling model and the deep environmental and social impacts of our course. Seeing the high devotion, enthusiasm, and energy of the volunteers was truly inspiring! Every bar of soap diverted from landfills and reprocessed represents a step toward a cleaner, healthier future for vulnerable communities.

🌟 Better Together for People & Planet! 🌏✨

A shout-out to the incredible volunteers who joined us as part of Time Auction's Eco-Community Month – a cross-company, sustainability focused volunteer campaign. Thanks to Nomura for hosting the soap art recycling session, which was open to volunteers from other participating corporates.

Together, the volunteers from Nomura and HKEX transformed 2kg of soap waste into 86 beautifully crafted soap bars. These are headed to Box of Hope to brighten the holidays for underprivileged children. 🎁🤝

🧼 Spreading Joy, One Bar at a Time! 🧼

We had an incredible day with the amazing team from HSBC! Their volunteers brought so much energy and heart to our workshop, transforming grounded soap powder from recycled hotel bars into beautiful, funny, and one-of-a-kind creations. ✨🎨

There was also a very special milestone to celebrate! Together, we crafted exactly 161 pieces of beautiful soap — a number that perfectly matches the 161 years HSBC has been operating in Hong Kong. A huge Happy Anniversary to HSBC! 🎂🎊

These unique soaps are headed to Box of Hope as special Christmas gifts for underprivileged children, carrying a message of care and holiday cheer. 🎁🎄

What made the session truly special was the spirit of inclusion. From our enthusiastic interns and dedicated elderly helpers to our new Board member, Mr. Tim Hung, everyone worked side-by-side in a truly diverse and supportive environment. 🤝

A massive thank you to all the devoted HSBC volunteers for your creativity and kindness. You’re helping Soap Cycling build a more inclusive platform while making the world a little cleaner and brighter! 🌟

Finding Purpose in Every Bar of Soap: Empowering Our Senior Volunteers 🧼✨

Working at Soap Cycling has always been a source of great pride for me, especially as we strive to engage and empower disadvantaged communities.

This year, we’ve dedicated more resources to collaborating with elderly members in aged care homes—and the experience has been nothing short of inspiring.

Many of these seniors, even those in wheelchairs, have shown us that they are not just capable but incredibly enthusiastic volunteers. During our sessions, I’ve witnessed some truly touching moments:
- A grandmother playfully challenging her friends to "keep up with her speed" while scraping soap. 💪🏻
- A gentleman asking if I could bring even more soap next time because he enjoyed the work so much.
- Many who refused to take a break because they were so focused on the task at hand.

Beyond just recycling, these activities provide our senior friends with a profound sense of purpose. Seeing them feel productive and valued is vital for their mental and physical well-being.

It’s a reminder that everyone, regardless of age or physical limitation, has something valuable to contribute.
