She's not teaching them how to play tennis. She's teaching them how to play together.

Fifty Hong Kong artists . One night a week. No cameras. A TEAM was built on a tennis court — it survives on what happens afterwards. The suppers. The table. The people who stay.

Roger Kwok, Hugo Wong, Tony Hung and Cheng Chi-sing started it and invited Roger Kwok to be the chairperson.

Introducing SCAA Magazine Off Court series.

The private half of a public life.

Our new series profiles Hong Kong figures whose real work happens away from the spotlight — not the awards, not the red carpets, but the Tuesday nights, the family tables, the rooms where nobody is performing.

We begin with Cindy Lee: a former Hong Kong tennis player who won for the party rather than the trophy, wore four-inch heels for Miss Hong Kong and never got used to them, cried on live television when Cheung Ka-long won gold, and now runs a fifty-strong tennis league for actors.

She doesn't call herself an athlete anymore. But ninety percent of her life is still sport.
