This painting is one half of the diptych Mode of Watching (In & Out), which explores ambiguity and shifting viewpoints in how events are structured and interpreted. It adopts the proportions of a screen, presenting a bird’s-eye view of anonymous figures arranged in an orderly, uniform formation across a sports field. Seen from a distance, these bodies collapse into a rhythmic sequence of eye-like symbols, transforming individual presence into a collective pattern of sameness. The ordered geometry of the field suggests systems of discipline and spectatorship, while the repeated eyes imply mutual observation.

𝘍𝘢𝘳𝘮 𝘗𝘭𝘢𝘺 and 𝘍𝘦𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘎𝘪𝘳𝘢𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘴 draw from childhood memories, moments of wonder, play, and early encounters with the natural world. Rendered through fluid, abstract forms, they distill fleeting impressions that have softened and shifted over time.

In contrast, 𝘗𝘪𝘦𝘤𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘚* 𝘰𝘯 𝘢 𝘚𝘪𝘭𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘗𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳 uses wonton noodles as both material and symbol, a tongue-in-cheek response to the sense of love and warmth the material carries.

𝘙𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘧𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 is the first full-length album from British composer, producer & visual artist, Damian Boylan. Spanning the genres of experimental electronica and contemporary classical, the album chronicles a time-centric story of the Universe.

The record’s meta construction pays homage to scientific and philosophical theory alike, including Nietzsche’s 1882 treatise on ‘Eternal Return’—the idea that our very existence may repeat identically in an infinite cycle. This thought experiment challenges us to live with such authenticity that we would willingly embrace every joy and every pain recurring in the same way forever. In keeping, the final phrase of the album’s closing track evolves to match the key, tempo, and timbre of the opening track, allowing the record itself to repeat on a seemingly infinite loop...

《𝘙𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘧𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴》是英國作曲家、製作人兼視覺藝術家 Damian Boylan 的首張全長專輯。這張專輯橫跨實驗電子（experimental electronica）與當代古典（contemporary classical）樂風，記錄了一個以時間為核心的宇宙故事。

Capture and translate fleeting moments of beauty into ethereal cyanotype prints! Contemporary artist Oh Haji invites you to join her at HART HAUS for a unique textile-making experience. Together, you will print your photos of flowers – taken during walks, past travels, or occasions that linger in your memory – onto fabric using cyanotype.

You will create two beautiful textile pieces:
* A personalised azuma bukuro (traditional Japanese folding bag) to take home
* A collaborative artwork to be exhibited at CHAT (Centre for Heritage, Arts and Textile) this November

𝗛𝗔𝗥𝗧 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁-𝗶𝗻-𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 藝術家駐留計劃 - 𝗛𝗮𝗷𝗶 𝗢𝗵

In collaboration with Centre for Heritage, Arts and Textile (CHAT ), HART HAUS is providing residency and studio support for OH Haji‘s participation in CHAT’s Winter Exhibition 2026.

Haji Oh () is a Korean artist born and raised in Japan, now living in Australia. She utilises textile-making techniques, such as weaving, dyeing and unravelling, as well as photography, cyanotype, text and sound in her work. Drawing on her background as a third-generation Zainichi Korean (a Korean resident in Japan), she creates artworks that give expression to the untold memories – silent memories – of women and unnamed individuals. She explores the concept of ‘post-memory’ by sharing experiences and dialogue through community workshops.

She was awarded a PhD in Fine Arts by Kyoto City University of Arts in 2012 and is the recipient of the Tokyo Contemporary Art Award 2024–2026. Since 2017, she has been working on an extended series of installations called Grand-mother Island Project, tracing the trajectories of people who have crossed the Pacific Ocean between Japan, Korea, Australia and places in between.

During her residency, artist will host a cyanotype workshop. Further details will be announced soon.

HART HAUS 與六廠紡織文化藝術館（CHAT）合作，為吳夏枝參與 CHAT 2026 冬季展覽提供駐留及工作室支持。

吳夏枝為韓裔藝術家，生於日本並成長，現居澳洲。她的創作橫跨多種媒介，包括紡織工藝（如編織、染色與拆解）、攝影、藍曬、文字與聲音。其作品源於她作為在日韓國第三代（Zainichi Korean）的背景，關注那些未被言說的記憶——屬於女性與無名者的沉默記憶，並透過社群工作坊的交流與經驗分享，探討「後記憶」（post-memory）的概念。

她於2012年取得京都市立藝術大學美術博士學位，並獲頒東京當代藝術獎 2024–2026。自2017年起，她持續發展一個延展性的裝置系列《Grand-mother Island Project》，追溯人們穿越日本、韓國、澳洲及太平洋地區之間的遷徙軌跡與歷史。

In this ninth collaboration, the exhibition drifts into a near-future posthuman world, where flesh and technology brush against one another in uneasy intimacy. Inspired by a futuristic convenience store, it unfolds a series of speculative products under Convenience Store, imagining a one-stop renewal for the body.

At HART HAUS, we are committed to supporting young and emerging artists by providing a platform for the development and presentation of new ideas. As part of this commitment, we welcome exhibition proposals from artists and curators throughout the year. Our ground floor space offers strong street exposure and accommodates a broad range of practices, including painting, projection, installation, and other exhibition formats. Selected proposals may be considered for exhibitions, pop-ups, or other public-facing programmes, and will be offered at a subsidized rate.

𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐓 𝐇𝐀𝐔𝐒 𝐂𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐮𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓, themed “𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠,” brought together over 30 participants for an inspiring journey of lectures, workshops, and conversations led by curators Dr. Vennes Cheng and Kobe Ko, among other art professionals as guest speakers. Across the programme, participants explored exhibition making, alternative art spaces, archival thinking, participatory art, and the evolving possibilities of curating as both practice and inquiry.

We are especially encouraged by the exhibition proposals submitted by Advanced Programme participants, reflecting the depth of ideas and critical exchange developed throughout the course. An outstanding exhibition proposal will soon be presented at HART HAUS.

Thank you to all speakers, tutors, and participants for making last year’s programme such a meaningful experience. Stay tuned for Curatorship Incubation Programme 2026, returning this coming October with new perspectives, new voices, and new curatorial possibilities.

HART HAUS 策展培育計劃 2025 以「探問策展」為題，匯聚超過 30 位參加者，在策展人鄭秀慧博士（Dr. Vennes Cheng）及高穎琳（Kobe Ko）等多位藝術專業人士作為講者的帶領下，展開一段充滿啟發的講座、工作坊及交流旅程。整個計劃中，參加者深入探討展覽製作、另類藝術空間、檔案思維、參與式藝術，以及策展作為實踐與提問的持續演變與可能性。

我們特別欣賞進階課程參加者提交了多份展覽提案，充分反映整個課程期間累積的深度思考與批判性交流。其中一個優秀展覽提案即將於 HART HAUS 呈現。
