Zonta Hong Kong East Cluster Advocacy Committee adopts “Say No to Suicide” as this year’s theme, responding to recent youth su***de incidents in Kwai Tsing and calling on the community to safeguard students’ mental health together. In partnership with Health In Action (HIA), we support the “陪你EMO” initiative, where a multidisciplinary medical team enters schools to strengthen su***de prevention with a family-centered approach.

The “Parents’ Mental Wellbeing” talk was held in early March, with around 50 parents and caregivers of S1–S6 students joining to focus on family and youth emotional wellbeing. At Tsuen Wan Government Primary School, Dr Fan Ning, founder and Executive Director of HIA, returned to his alma mater to share how parents can care for themselves while supporting their children—by keeping at least 20 minutes of daily “me time”, maintaining regular exercise, and setting a yearly learning goal to stay open and growing. When parents look after their own mental health, they are better able to walk alongside their children through both primary and secondary school years with patience, calm and hope.

The talk also highlighted the importance of using community primary care and mental health resources early, building an extra safety net for families. We are grateful to Zonta Club of Hong Kong East for their generous support and shared commitment to cherishing life and saying no to su***de.

🌟 Reflecting on a truly heartwarming event! 🎨 On November 26, 2025, Zonta Club of Hong Kong East partnered with Learning Bridge Association (LBA) and Caritas Mother Teresa School for an inclusive Art Jamming session themed “Birdsong and Blossoms” (鳥語花香). 🤝
With 7 dedicated Zontians, 2 friends, 25 Form 4-5 students, 6 neurodivergent artists, and 2 art mentors, we collaborated in small groups to craft stunning 100x100 cm artworks. 🖼️ The day was filled with ice-breakers, creative expression, and meaningful conversations that heightened our understanding of SEN needs. 💬❤️
This initiative empowered everyone involved, forging personal bonds and promoting equity. Inspired by past successes where pieces were auctioned off! Who’s ready for more? 🌈

🌸 Happy International Women’s Day! 🌸
On 8 March 2026, Zonta Club of Hong Kong East celebrated and Zonta Rose Day with our beloved 敬耆同歡午宴 (ACP 2026) – bringing joy to 100 wonderful underprivileged elderly friends from Eastern District Women’s Welfare Association’s Leung Lee Sau Yu Centre! 💖👵👴
The afternoon was filled with laughter, delicious food, fun games, and heartwarming performances:
🦁 Energetic lion dance by the adorable kids from Lei Kwai Tim Kindergarten
🎭 Charming Cantonese opera by Lang Fai Cantonese Opera Troupe
🎤 Upbeat songs by The OKAY Group
🎈 Balloon-passing games & a huge lucky draw with 100 prizes donated by our Zontians!
Our seniors shared how touched they were – many said they felt so valued, happy, and full of warmth being surrounded by intergenerational love and care. Everyone went home with smiles and a mystery 福袋 goodie bag! 🎁😊

On 8 Nov, Zonta Club of Hong Kong East sponsored the 流動五感大茶樓 organized by Project Futurus at TWGHs Jockey Club Sunny Lodge.
28 Zonta HKE members dressed as waiters, hostesses, and assistant chefs served soft-textured dim sum (軟餐) — pureed siu mai, minced har gow, silky red bean soup — specially made for elders with dementia and swallowing difficulties.
Fragrant pu-erh, dim sum carts, Polaroids, and golden oldies filled the air. Elders smiled, chatted, and danced along — a morning of pure happiness for all! 🫖❤️

Seven Zonta Clubs of Hong Kong and Po Leung K*k Launch “Zonta Says NO” Campaign with Citywide Mobile Art Exhibition

Hong Kong, 12 December 2025 – In partnership with Po Leung K*k, Hong Kong’s Zonta Clubs—Zonta Club of Hong Kong, Zonta Club of Kowloon, Zonta Club of Hong Kong East, Zonta Club of The New Territories, Zonta Club of Victoria Hong Kong, Zonta Club of Hong Kong II, and Zonta Club of The New Territories II officially launched the 2025 “Zonta Says NO to Violence Against Women” campaign on 8 December.

Throughout the annual 16 Days of Activism (25 Nov–10 Dec) and beyond, the seven clubs jointly organise and fund a full programme of awareness activities: school talks reaching over 3,000 students, public seminars, social-media campaigns, orange illumination of landmarks, and this year’s highlight — full sponsorship and volunteer support for Po Leung K*k’s mobile art exhibition “Violence? Love!!: A Voyage of Discovery”.

The free citywide tour (8–14 December) brings interactive zones and real survivor stories to six districts: Causeway Bay, Wan Chai, Mong Kok, Wong Tai Sin, Tai Wai and Tsuen Wan. Visitors explore how cycles of abuse can be transformed into healing and healthy relationships.

On 11 December, Zonta Hong Kong East members staffed the busy Mong Kok stations all day, engaging hundreds of passers-by, distributing resources, answering questions and collecting pledges.

District 17 Governor Winnie Wong and Po Leung K*k Chairman Amanda Ho, JP, joined club presidents at the launch, stressing that domestic violence — affecting one in three women globally and nearly 40% in Hong Kong — can only end when the entire community says NO.

The exhibition remains open daily until 14 December.

Zonta Club of Hong Kong East Sponsors “Mobile Five Senses Dim Sum Restaurant” for Elders
Hong Kong, 14 November 2025 – Zonta Club of Hong Kong East sponsored the 流動五感大茶樓 organized by The Project Futurus on 8 November 2025 at Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Jockey Club Sunny Lodge in Wong Chuk Hang.
The 3-hour event brought joy to 48 frail elders with dementia, many struggling with poor appetite and swallowing difficulties. 28 Zonta HKE members dressed as waiters, hostesses, and assistant chefs served soft-textured dim sum (軟餐) — pureed siu mai, minced har gow, silky red bean soup — tailored to chewing needs, alongside fragrant teas and nostalgic Cantonese tunes.
Elders lit up with smiles, chatted animatedly, and swayed to music, while members pushed dim sum carts, took Polaroid photos, and shared warm interactions. Both elders and members had a delightful time, creating cherished memories through sensory stimulation and heartfelt connections.

Did you know women make up only about 25% of the aerospace industry workforce globally? To help change that, Zonta International offers the prestigious Amelia Earhart Fellowship—named after the famed pilot and Zontian, Amelia Earhart, established in 1938.

This US$10,000 fellowship is awarded annually to up to 30 exceptional women pursuing Ph.D./doctoral degrees in aerospace engineering and space sciences. It can be used at any accredited university worldwide offering postgraduate courses in these fields. Since its inception, Zonta has awarded 1,794 fellowships totaling over US$12.2 million to women from 80 countries.

Our fellows have risen to remarkable heights as astronauts, aerospace engineers, professors, business leaders, and even Secretary of the US Air Force. 🚀✨

Women of any nationality enrolled full-time in a Ph.D./doctoral program in aerospace-related fields
