「宜」，取自本書院—伍宜孫書院，強調我們致力為本書院的宿生服務。「琅」，在古文裡解作美玉，比喻能服務宿生是珍貴的。
「星」，指一眾幹事會成員願成為星辰，在晚上舉辦各式各樣的活動及提供便利宿生的服務。

Yirius
Yirius, derived from the word “Sirius”, which is the brightest star in the Earth’s night sky. The originating word of Yirius shares the same pronunciation with “Serious”. It means we will take every opportunity to serve our residents seriously and always strive for perfecting our activities and services.
