Bird calls have been here all along. In the same city, the same neighborhood, the same stretch of sky, we share the same afternoons, the same benches, the same pools of shade. However, we once heard birdsong from coming from an artificial birdsong device in a park. If our city is already filled with birdsongs, why is there a need for such artificial sounds? As we walk through the streets and alleys, we are used to hearing mostly human sounds, but have we ever paused to listen for the voices of these small neighbours? Have we ever been curious about their conversations? Would we notice if there were artificial birdsong devices?
We invite you to put on a pair of headphones and lean into a few recordings. Can you tell which is the real birdsong? After listening to the tracks, carry this curiosity with you, follow the “Walking Map,” lift your gaze toward the rooftops, into the shade of the trees, along the edges of windowsills, and look at our tiny neighbours from a new perspective.

鳥鳴其實一直存在，同一城市、社區、天空之下都不難找到鳥的身影，我們與牠們共享同一午後、長椅、樹蔭，可是有人曾在公園中聽到從鳥鳴裝置傳來的雀鳥聲。既然我們的城市已不缺少真的鳥鳴，那人工鳥鳴裝置存在的意思又是什麼呢？在市井之間穿梭，我們習慣聽見人和車的聲音，但可曾留意過這群小鄰居的聲息？好奇過牠們的對話？假若換上了鳥鳴裝置，人們又會察覺嗎？
我們邀請你戴上耳機，細聞幾段錄音，你是否還能分辨出真實的鳥聲？聽完錄音後，不妨帶住這份好奇，跟隨「散步地圖」抬頭望向樓頂、樹蔭、窗台邊，重新認識我們的小小鄰居。
