HKSPC is committed to advancing the field of paediatric cardiology and improving the health of children with heart diseases.

The field of paediatric cardiology has come a long way over the last half century in Hong Kong - from the first pediatric open heart surgery in 1964, to the first arterial switch, Fontan operation and other more complex surgeries in the 1980s and then to the 1990s, when we saw a flourish of new transcatheter and electrophysiological techniques. As the field of paediatric cardiology advanced, so did the coherence of health professionals looking after children with heart disease and in 2009, the Hong Kong Society of Paediatric Cardiology was founded. With the same dedication our forefathers shared in the development of paediatric cardiology in Hong Kong, our mission is to advance the science of cardiovascular diseases and promote cardiovascular health in children as a united front through education, scientific activities, community events and research.

We are always in support of Paediatric Cardiology training in Hong Kong and this year, the Young Chapter of APCASH and HKCASH has organised the APCASH Fellow Case Competition, which features case competition in both structural and congenital heart disease intervention, with both local and Asia-Pacific presenters as well as international panel discussant.

Registration is free. Submissions are open for short videos (medical students, interns, basic trainees) and challenging cases (young fellows).
