Art for Action Hong Kong (AAHK) is a Visual Arts based service project that was founded in the previous school year (2014-2015) by Tiffany Yu and Mary Chan (currently Year 12 students), but has continued to develop and improve upon its activities (art workshops). The service project features aspects of ‘creativity’ as well as ‘service’, through meaningful workshops conducted to less-aware/educated
members of the local community, such as for the elderly, the deaf society, and primary children. This activity will be done as a group of students recruited from RCHK secondary school. In the last two years, Art for Action has worked with over 50 student volunteers from Year 8 and above. Aside from this, Art for Action has collaborated with various organisations (outside school) and service teams (within school), such as the Heng On Elderly Centre, Year 2 Studio Time, Global Issues Group @ RCHK, and the Mental Health Awareness Team (MHAT@RCHK). The student-initiated workshops strive to educate and raise awareness on socio-economic global issues of concern (such as consumerism, marine pollution, food waste), through an educational platform for various individuals within school -- such as student volunteers involved and teachers -- as well as individuals outside school -- such as elders and the deaf community. Moreover, finished artworks that aim to be displayed around permitted areas (such as around RCHK, for the LGBT+ pride parade, and around government facilities e.g. elderly homes at which workshops are conducted) aim to perpetually spark a concern towards the targeted global issues and provide soluti
