🌿 [Workshop Recap: NbS Action Week] 🌿

Yesterday, our HKILA members co-hosted and participated in a full-day workshop on the last day of the NbS Action Week, focusing on cross-border resource management, nature-based design, and multi-stage stakeholder engagement across the Shenzhen-Hong Kong region.

It was an inspiring convergence of expertise. We worked with professionals from environmental science, finance, governance, and social engagement—all critical disciplines that partner with landscape architects to deliver successful, enduring NbS projects. 👷🏻

A sincere thank you to Columbia Climate School for curating the workshop, also The Nature Conservancy (TNC), Civic Exchange, and IUCN for organizing this impactful event in Hong Kong!

Looking ahead, we are eager to carry this momentum into IFLA World Congress 2026 this October! Let’s continue designing resilient environments where human communities and nature thrive together. 🌱🌿🌳

🌿 HKILA at the 15th China International Garden Expo

The HKILA is pleased to report on our official delegation to Wenzhou for the 15th China International Garden Expo on 15–16 April 2026.

Our President, Dr. Yin-lun Chan, presented under an ancient banyan tree, on "Ten Ways to Create a Sustainable Garden", highlighting how direct community feedback allows landscape architecture to truly align with human needs and urban greening workflows. Community-centric design is essential for climate-resilient public spaces.

Dr. Chan and the Immediate Past President, Mr. Paul Chan, both delivered key speeches at the "International Garden Culture Exchange Program." The fruitful exchange serves as an excellent milestone as we prepare to host the IFLA World Congress 2026 in Hong Kong this October.

Euphen Wong
