Since the US government only allows US flag, POW/MMIA flag and agency flags, and some exceptions, being raised in government properties. A rainbow flag in the Stonewall National Monument was removed and swapped for US flag, on 9 Feb (US time).
Stonewall Movement happened in 1969, New York, which the society was still hostile to LGBT+ people. Raiding and arrests made by local police were frequent during that time. In June, the local police once again raided Stonewall Inn and arrested customers. End up with more than 500 people throwing random objects at the local police. Local Police retreated and it left a significant mark in US history.
Although the US flag was raised in the flagpole, the community and city officials brought a temporary flagpole, and raised 8-strips rainbow flag next to the US flag, on 12 Feb (US time).
