Oculus is a student-led, non-profit organization working in partnership with Orbis HK. We strive to raise awareness and funds for the prevention of visual impairment, particularly in developing countries. You may ask, out of all the issues around the world, why vision? Well as pretentious as this sounds, stop and imagine:

ours in your surroundings fading to darkness. Imagine being trapped in an abyss, engulfed by a seemingly endless void. Blindness doesn’t just take away sight in the literal sense. It removes vision. It removes a person’s ability to perform effectively in the simplest of tasks. The chances of gaining an education are hindered leading to a lack of work, poor income and inadequate education for the next generation. Although 285 million people worldwide are visually impaired, the amount of people that are impacted by blindness exceeds this. Knowing that 80% of all visual impairment can be avoided or cured, how can we not join this cause?
