曼陀羅是一種以圓形構成的象徵性幾何圖案,代表統一、平衡與宇宙的秩序。它源於靈性傳統,常用於冥想與自我反思。創作或欣賞曼陀羅有助培養正念、減輕壓力,並帶來和諧、專注,以及內在深層的平靜。
A mandala is a symbolic, geometric pattern often arranged in a circular form, representing unity, balance, and the universe. Rooted in spiritual traditions, it is used for meditation and reflection. Creating or observing mandalas can promote mindfulness, reduce stress, and encourage a sense of harmony, focus, and deep inner peace.

在本工作坊,Shivani Salil醫生將帶領大家創作曼陀羅,而理事Dr Lipika則會透過印度小食和音樂,帶大家體驗印度文化。
In this workshop, Dr Shivani Salil will guide us through preparing the mandala, while our ExCo member Dr Lipika will introduce elements of Indian culture through traditional snacks and music.

今日(5月4日),未來營運商美心於Coffee Con舉行「招聘會」,面試有意繼續留任的現職員工。據員工轉述,面試後新營運商預計於6月中旬通知他們是否受聘。

「睇下點啦,有得做就做啦。」一位姐姐說。

希望在未來還可以繼續見到熟悉的面孔。

校方於2023年開展「職級與薪酬架構檢討」,至今已接近三年。剛過去的星期三(4月22日),「檢討職級與薪酬架構督導委員會主席」向全體員工發出電郵,宣布將於5月6日及5月20日舉行兩場「溝通會」,公佈顧問公司光輝國際(Korn Ferry)的研究結果及改動建議。

中大員工總會過去一直關注檢討進度。這次檢討牽涉各位同事在大學的工作條件、薪酬安排及晉升前景,包括:
- COLA(生活指數調整)/General Pay Adjustment 會否削減或改變
- 薪酬調整會否更偏向「表現導向」(PRDS)
- 職級/職系架構會否重整,會否新增、修改或刪減職級及起薪點
- 原有職位及晉升機制會否受到影響
- 薪酬制度會否更趨「市場導向」
- 績效評核是否具透明度及公平性
- 薪級點長度及晉升空間
- 其他與同事待遇相關的制度改變

校方在電郵中亦表示,請各部門主管在可行情況下,讓有興趣參與溝通會的同事暫時離開工作崗位。是次檢討與全體同事息息相關,大家有必要了解制度將如何改變,亦應把握機會表達意見。

The University launched the "Review of Grading and Pay Structure" in 2023, and it has now been underway for nearly three years. In an all-staff email sent this Wednesday (22 April), the Chair of the Steering Committee announced that two "communication sessions" will be held on 6 May and 20 May to present the findings and recommendations from the external consultant, Korn Ferry.

The CUHK Employees General Union has been closely following the progress of this review. This is a set of potential changes that may affect colleagues’ working conditions, salary arrangements, and career progression, including:

* Whether COLA (Cost of Living Adjustment) / General Pay Adjustment will be reduced or changed
* Whether salary adjustments will shift toward a more performance-based approach (PRDS)
* Possible restructuring of staff grades and job families, including creation, revision, or removal of positions and entry points
* Impacts on existing roles and promotion pathways
* Whether the overall pay system will become more “market-oriented”
* Transparency and fairness of performance review
* Length of salary scales and progression opportunities
* Other changes affecting staff conditions and benefits

The University also stated that departments should, where feasible, allow interested staff to step away from work to attend the sessions. This reflects the relevance of the review to all colleagues. It is important to understand how the system may change, and to make use of the opportunity to express views.

咖啡閣結業在即:不只是回憶,還有人的去與留

范克廉樓咖啡閣 Coffee Corner(俗稱 Coffee Con)將於下月10日結業(5月9日是最後營運日)。對不少中大人而言,Coffee Con 承載着許多共同回憶:雞髀配炸薯條、火車頭河粉、大大碟意粉,這些熟悉的味道即將成為往事。在物價高漲的大學校園裡,咖啡閣仍然是少數保留昔日大學飯堂氛圍的地方。

除了食物本身,大家記得的,還有「買嘢食上前」、「記得交飛」、炸薯條光速出爐、高聲叫號、工作效率甚高的餐廳員工。隨着餐廳結業,他們的去向亦令人關注。雖然飯堂員工並非大學直接聘用,但他們在校園裡留下的足跡,或許比不少學生和職員更深。不少在咖啡閣工作的伙計,已服務十年、二十年,甚至接近三十年,早已習慣在大學工作,也是這個社區的一部分。

參考中文大學裡更換外判服務承辦商的做法,例如校園外判清潔服務,一般會優先聘用原有員工,減少對外判員工的影響。就此,我們向商務組轄下的 Canteens Management Support Team 查詢,在轉換新營辦商時,會否重新聘用現有咖啡閣員工,讓他們得以繼續工作。商務組於上週五回覆表示,美心集團高級營運經理已口頭承諾,會優先聘用現有咖啡閣員工。負責人林先生亦向商務組表示,會向員工轉達美心集團的意向,並收集有意留任的員工名單,供美心日後跟進。

員工總會這幾天亦向咖啡閣的幾位員工了解情況。他們表示,僱主曾向兩三位同事查詢去留意向,但尚未接觸所有員工。有人擔心年紀漸長,難以在市場上找到相若的工作;亦有人表示,由於新舊合約之間可能出現兩、三個月的空窗期,期間或需另覓工作。也有員工對所謂「優先聘用」持保留態度,認為大集團本身已有固定班底,未必會最終聘用她們。

常說中大最美的風景是人。比起一間餐廳的結束,我們更在意的是,這個校園如何繼續珍惜每一位默默付出的人,讓那份屬於中大社區的連結得以延續。

Yin Yoga with Therapy Ball

課程慨要:從臨摹扎根,由淺入深,了解各類書體的演變,取其特色,化成自我創作。
主題: 「魏楷」中的代表名碑《張黑女墓誌》,全稱《魏故南陽太守張玄墓誌》,是北魏楷書(魏碑)成就最高的墓誌之一,被後世視為學魏碑楷書的極佳範本。
導師:周玉英女士 - 學習書法已逾十多年,近年兼任書法教學工作, 現正修讀中大書法理論與研究課程。

CUEGU Chinese Calligraphy Class (Theme: Wei-Style regular script
(Wei Kai) Epitaph
for Zhang Xuan) :
Mar 10, 2026 – May 26, 2026
Class outline: Imitation is the basic way to learn traditional calligraphy, from the simplest to the most advanced. To understand the evolution of various types of Chinese calligraphy, take their characteristics and turn them into self-creation.
Theme: The epitaph of Zhang Heinu, a representative stele
of "Wei-style calligraphy", is officially titled "Epitaph of
Zhang Xuan, the Former Prefect of Nanyang of the Wei Dynasty". It is one
of the most accomplished epitaphs in Northern Wei regular script (Wei stele)
and is regarded by later generations as an excellent model for learning Wei
stele regular script.
Instructor: Ms. Michelle Chow - A Chinese Calligraphy educator learning the craft for over 10 years, currently studying Chinese Calligraphy theory and research course at CUHK.

🫓Immerse Yourself in Indian Food and Culture: CUEGU Indian Cooking & Cultural Experience Night|印度食物與文化體驗班🫓

The Chinese University of Hong Kong Employees General Union (CUEGU) is pleased to invite you to join our upcoming Indian Cooking & Cultural Experience Workshop.
香港中文大學員工總會誠意邀請大家參加即將舉行的 「印度食物與文化體驗班」。

This workshop will be led by Lipika, who will demonstrate her family’s home-style recipes and guide participants to prepare two classic Indian dishes: Paratha (layered flatbread) and Raita (yogurt-based condiment). These dishes are commonly enjoyed in Indian households as breakfast, brunch, or a light dinner.
是次活動由 Lipika 主講,與大家分享其家傳食譜,並示範如何製作印度家庭常見的 Paratha(層餅) 及 Raita(乳酪青瓜醬),兩款料理均為印度家庭早餐、早午餐或輕食晚餐的常見搭配。

The workshop is hands-on, beginner-friendly, and suitable for colleagues who enjoy cooking or exploring global cultures.
