Dear all members,
Since the passing of the special resolutions on the dissolution of HKPTU at the second Extraordinary General Meeting held on 11 September 2021, HKPTU has been actively dealing with the dissolution matters in accordance with the resolutions, including but not limited to, staff dismissal, disposal of properties, termination of contracts with service providers and repayment of outstanding liabilities. In addition, we have now completed all regulatory audit, investigation undertaken by the Inland Revenue Department, settlement of outstanding tax liabilities as well as preparation on the distribution of the surplus fund maintained by HKPTU (the “Distribution”). In light of the above, HKPTU is now in a position to commence the Distribution. HKPTU would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude for our members’ patience and consideration.
Each qualified member (including regular and honorary members but not including those who terminated their membership on or after 10 August 2021) will receive a sum of HK$3,190. We will inform all members of the arrangements for the Distribution by post, e-mail and SMS. The registration form and relevant information regarding the Distribution are available on HKPTU’s website (https://www.hkptu.org). After traversing half a century, HKPTU is soon to draw its final chapter. HKPTU is grateful for the members’ continuous care and support over the years. Wish everyone peace and health.
