Swiss Association of Hong Kong

Swiss Association of Hong Kong Creating a Place for the Local Swiss Community of Hong Kong.

SAHK, founded in 1948, serves as a go-to place for the local Swiss community and friends of Switzerland to socialize, foster friendship, conduct business networking, meet and engage in activities of common interest. We have welcomed many Swiss nationals in Hong Kong and enabled them to maintain and share their heritage and cultural experiences while abroad. We work closely with other Swiss organis

ations in Hong Kong to keep our members informed and connected. All year round we organise a variety of activities such as luncheons, coffee or after-work gatherings, Jass evenings, holiday parties, hikes as well as various cultural and social activities for individuals and families. Once a year we publish the magazine s’Alphorn which shows some of the highlights of our annual events as well as informative news for our members. Our membership spans from the dynamic young to mature young at heart, from singles to families and their children. The SAHK events are a great opportunity to meet other Swiss in Hong Kong, experience a bit of Switzerland and bring back fond memories – or simply have a good time and enjoy a traditional meal.

✨ What an incredible afternoon at the Swiss Papercutting Design Workshop with Nick Tsao ✨

Swiss precision meets Chinese tradition in the most beautiful way, and this fusion was pure magic! A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for this special hands-on workshop.
Under Nick’s expert guidance, participants created their own unique papercutting designs, blending two rich cultural heritages into stunning personal artworks. The creativity in the room was inspiring! From sketching to the final reveal, it was an afternoon filled with laughter, learning, and genuine joy. Seeing everyone’s one-of-a-kind pieces come to life was truly special.

Held in the historic Blue House in Wan Chai (a UNESCO Award-winning heritage gem), the setting made the experience even more unforgettable.

🍫 Swiss chocolate + 21 creative Swiss kids = ultimate 🇨🇭Chocolate factory!
A lucky crew became the coolest „Young Chocolatiers of Switzerland“ for an afternoon at GSIS! The kids learned where chocolate comes from before rolling and shaping their own handmade pralines with premium . Each child proudly packed their handmade treats into a shiny golden box, featuring their own unique artwork on top. Every single box looked stunning and beautiful! 🇨🇭❤️

Did you know that the delicate art of Swiss papercutting shares striking similarities with the traditional Chinese papercutting tradition? This unique hands-on workshop offers you the rare chance to explore and blend both cultural heritages through creative design.

Led by Nick Tsao, founder of Papertecture (a Hong Kong-based papercutting studio), you will learn to draw and craft your very own one-of-a-kind papercutting design. Nick, who trained as an architect at the University of Cambridge and the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and previously worked with the renowned Basel firm Herzog & de Meuron, will personally guide you through the process. Your design will then be digitally enhanced and professionally produced especially for you.

Together, we’ll explore how chocolate is made before rolling, shaping, and decorating your very own Swiss chocolate balls. Using white, milk, and dark chocolate, plus sprinkles and other fun toppings, you will craft a unique set of sweet treats to take home. While the chocolates chill, the fun continues! You’ll create and decorate your own chocolate box. At the end, your handmade chocolates will be tucked inside your personalized box — ready to share with family and friends.
