🇭🇰 SUNSHINE ACTION 耀陽行動 UK 🇬🇧 & Hong Kong ✨ Lucas Kooi for 🇮🇩 Singapore & Malaysia 🇲🇾

✨ It is with great pleasure that we introduce Mr. Lucas Kooi as the official representative of Sunshine Action in Singapore and Malaysia. Lucas has served as the Sunshine Ambassador for Singapore International School (Hong Kong) and has been affiliated with Sunshine Action for nearly three years. Going forward, he will serve as the principal point of contact for all corporate and school collaborations in both countries.

🌟✨ This week, both Blackstone Hong Kong and Blackstone UK are packing nearly 1,500 Sunshine Bags, which will be donated to 15 charities and local centers in the coming weeks. Blackstone has collaborated with Sunshine Action for several years, and we hope to extend this partnership to many other countries.

🌟 Blackstone stands as one of the world's most influential alternative asset managers, with a global footprint spanning continents and an unwavering commitment to philanthropy that mirrors the scale and sophistication of its business. Their dedication to giving back—mobilizing teams across offices and borders to serve communities in need—is a testament to the remarkable corporate citizenship that defines the firm. It is a privilege to count Blackstone among our most valued and longstanding partners.

🇨🇳 Today, I had the distinct pleasure of accompanying my favored godson from the University of Chicago—Toby—on a circuit through several notable sites in Shenzhen, during which we initiated preliminary engagement with the “Shenzhen Nanshan Volunteer Association 深圳市南山區志願者聯合會”, all while exploring the evocative environs of the ancient city.

The University of Chicago 芝加哥大學, an institution of singular intellectual prestige, ranks sixth among national universities according to U.S. News & World Report and occupied the tenth position in the QS World University Rankings three years ago, at which time I first came to know Toby as my former intern.
🌟 The university’s academic distinction is further underscored by its formal affiliation with 1️⃣0️⃣1️⃣ Nobel laureates—a luminous roster comprising individuals who have served as faculty, students, or researchers during pivotal phases of their scholarly trajectories.

🙏🏻 The Shenzhen Nanshan Volunteer Association, meanwhile, stands as a preeminent, 5A‑rated philanthropic organization headquartered in Nanshan District, Shenzhen. Over the course of three decades, it has evolved from a modest grassroots collective of thirty members into a formidable network encompassing more than 35,000 registered volunteers. Its operational structure is both extensive and meticulously organized, comprising:
✨ 9 個直屬組
✨1 個藝術團
✨ 8 個街道志願者協會
✨ 545 家團體義工隊
✨ 18 家孵化培育的社會組織

🇮🇩 To all confirmed charities organizations and humanitarian centers in Jakarta waiting for us….

🙏🏼I hope this message finds you well. It is with my deepest regret that I must inform you of the unforeseen postponement of our planned trip to Jakarta, Indonesia. Please accept my sincerest apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

🌟 This past Saturday morning, following an exceptionally demanding session dedicated to the "International Day of Charity," my team and I encountered an unexpected series of events. Our flight to Jakarta was abruptly canceled due to the volcanic eruption that occurred on September 5, compounded by the ongoing forest fires in the region. The ensuing chaos left us stranded aboard the aircraft and subsequently at the airport for nearly nine hours, navigating uncertainty and disruption.

🙏🏻Ultimately, we were compelled to stay overnight at the Regal Airport Hotel, awaiting any updates regarding the situation. Regrettably, this morning we received the disheartening news that Jakarta's airport remains closed, and all flights for today have been canceled.

✨ Despite these challenges, my colleague and I are actively working to identify the earliest possible opportunity to reschedule our visit. It remains our utmost priority to meet with your esteemed organization and discuss matters of mutual importance at the earliest feasible date.

🌟 We are truly grateful for your understanding and patience during this unexpected turn of events. Please rest assured that we will keep you informed as we work diligently to finalize new arrangements.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding. I look forward to the opportunity to meet with you in the near future and extend my gratitude in person. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 ✈️

In 2026, Sunshine Action will embark on its second humanitarian mission to Indonesia, with a concentrated operational footprint in the nation’s sprawling capital, Jakarta. This return engagement signifies not merely a reiteration of our charitable mandate, but a strategic deepening of our commitment to one of Southeast Asia’s most complex urban landscapes.
