In Asia, the most meaningful conversations often begin with a cup of tea. 🍵✨

This past Wednesday, MAYCHAM hosted an evening unlike any other at Tealosophy Tea Bar for our exclusive Brewing to Success: Tea Etiquettes in Business event, and it was truly a night to remember.

Guided by Justin Ng, Founder of Tealosophy Tea Bar, our guests were taken on a fascinating journey through the refined codes of conduct, non-verbal cues, and cultural wisdom that make tea so much more than a beverage in Chinese and Japanese traditions. From the art of brewing and serving to the subtleties of receiving tea at a negotiation table, every detail carries meaning, and the evening brought those lessons to life in the most immersive way possible. 🫖

Set perfectly in the spirit of the Mid-Autumn Festival season, the evening was made even more special with a beautiful pairing of fine teas and seasonal mooncakes. 🥮🌕

It was an evening of cultural discovery, genuine connection, and the kind of insight that stays with you well beyond the room. We are back!

After a well-deserved summer break, MAYCHAM welcomed its community back in style at JW Marriott Hotel Hong Kong for our much-anticipated September Monthly Happy Hour. It was wonderful to see familiar faces back in the room, summer stories being exchanged, and the energy of a community ready to make the most of the final stretch of 2026.

From reconnecting with old friends to forging new professional relationships, the evening was a true reminder of what makes this community so special. The conversations flowed, the atmosphere was warm, and the room was full of the kind of enthusiasm that only a fresh season can bring.

To everyone who joined us last Monday, thank you for making our return mixer one to remember. The second half of 2026 is already looking bright, and we cannot wait to see what this season brings for our community.

You’ve seen the night. Now meet the one who helped make it better!

You’ve already seen our highlight cap of Merdaka Nite 2026, and what a night it was. But as we mark Malaysia Day today, we thought there’s no better moment to shine the light to the group of people who made our Merdeka Nite just a little bit more special.

Meet our volunteers, Malaysian students and graduates right here in Hong Kong and Macau, and proud recipients of the MAYCHAM Student Trust Fund. On the night itself, they stepped in to help things run more smoothly, from assisting guests to supporting the team on the ground, doing whatever was needed with a warm smile and a willing heart.

As beneficiaries of a community that believed in them, Merdeka Nite 2026 was their moment to say “terima kasih” (thank you) in the most meaningful way possible, through action, service, and heart. That, to us, is the true meaning of "semangat Malaysia" (the Malaysian spirit), caring for the community that once cared for you.

On this Malaysia Day, we celebrate not just for a nation, but the people who carry it with them wherever they go. To every single volunteer who was part of this journey, we see you, and are endlessly proud of the young Malaysians you are becoming.
