HKiNEDA hosted a press conference on 11 February 2026 to release its latest annual survey on Independent Non‑Executive Directors (INEDs) of Hong Kong‑listed companies. President Mr Rex Yeung, Vice President Dr Jacqueline Huang and Executive Council Member Prof Michael Wong presented key findings from the 2025 study, which covers all 2,637 HK‑listed companies and 6,722 INEDs. The survey reveals an over 2,000‑fold pay gap between the highest and lowest paid INEDs and a still‑low female representation, with women holding only 9.4% of INED positions, highlighting the need to enhance independent oversight, fair remuneration and board diversity to support Hong Kong’s long‑term market development.

Media representatives from South China Morning Post, Hong Kong Economic Journal, Ming Pao, Sing Tao, Infocast and others attended and expressed strong interest in the report.
