50年代初，中國湖北信義宗神學院師生來港，有部分在上水開展傳教工作。蒙神祝福，信義會在1955年 獲教友捐出古洞石仔嶺現址興建教堂，並命名為「信義會活水堂」。2003年信義會活水堂及彩園堂聯合，取名「靈合堂」。

信義會在古洞服侍超過60年，雖然古洞人口不斷遷離，但靈合堂繼續承傳先賢的使命，在當地傳揚佳美的福音，同時發現村內很多獨居隱蔽長者的需要，於是2015年教會與社會服務部合作，將教會後半部份的貨倉用來興建「信義會靈合長者健康中心」，是首間在古洞的長者服務中心。

基督教香港信義會靈合長者健康中心於2015年12月以自負盈虧形式投入服務，主要服務古洞鄉郊的長者，並以「健康、環保、福音」為主題，關顧區內長者及社區人士的需要，建立長者支援網絡。
