The Hong Kong Highlanders

The Hong Kong Highlanders For all to enjoy and participate in Scottish traditions and to allow the children of HK Scots know these same traditions although not living in Scotland.

"The Reel Club" has been in existence since 1947, although it only affiliated with the Hong Kong Highlanders in 1997. It was originally set up by the then minister of the Union Church with the intention of providing British servicemen with wholesome entertainment and keeping them away from less salubrious areas of Hong Kong. Sixty odd years on and we are still dancing. The Reel Club is an affiliat

e member of the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society, a globe-spanning organisation with branches and affiliated groups in more countries than you can imagine. You will never go on holiday again without packing your dancing shoes. "The Hong Kong Highlanders" is a social society holding a range of activities throughout the year. These vary from the type of event which is expected of any expatriate Scottish society, being the same events that they would enjoy at home, to those with a more local or topical slant.
