HKMAMSS Exchange Tour to Seoul
While HKMA representatives were in Seoul for the CMAAO General Assembly, 14 medical students representing the HKMA Medical Students’ Subcommittee also took part in a four-day exchange tour.
With the special arrangement and support of our President, Dr CHENG Chi Man, the students had the valuable opportunity to represent Hong Kong and deliver a presentation at the CMAAO Symposium, sharing their perspectives on professional autonomy in medicine with an international audience.
Our Vice-Presidents, Dr YEUNG Hip Wo Victor and Dr CHAN Pierre, who were in Seoul for the CMAAO meetings, also took time from their busy programme to accompany and guide the students during the tour.
The students took part in a series of exchange and learning activities:
🍽️ Seoul National University College of Medicine
Joined a dinner exchange with Korean medical students, sharing perspectives on medical education, student life and their aspirations for the medical profession.
🔬 Samsung Medical Center
Visited the medical centre and learned about its clinical services, healthcare delivery and technology.
🗣️ CMAAO Symposium
Participated in the symposium and engaged with medical professionals from across Asia and Oceania.
🏥 Seoul National University Hospital
Visited the hospital and gained a closer understanding of its clinical services and patient care.
🤝 Korean Medical Student Association
Exchanged views with Korean medical students on student leadership, medical education and their experiences in the regions.
Throughout the tour, the students gained first-hand exposure to Korean medical education and healthcare, while building connections with fellow medical students who share a passion for the profession.
