感謝 ReThink Hong Kong () 邀請我們的總幹事 Jo Hayes 出席上週四舉行的「Affordable and Sustainable Housing at Speed」專題討論！🏠
是次討論強調，香港的房屋挑戰不僅在於可負擔性，更在於能否確保住宅方便到達、位置便利、健康且切合日常生活所需。在 Ms Rose Hung 的主持下，Jo 與何鉅業博士、葉文棋先生 及黃仕進教授 展開了極具啟發性的交流。
來自政策、研究、非牟利機構及公營機構等不同領域的專家聚首一堂，共同探討規劃、設計及維修保養等環節的決策，如何深遠影響房屋的可負擔性與居住質素。
Jo 在討論中特別強調，宜居房屋不應單單被視為繁榮社會的成果；獲得安全、且可負擔的居所，往往是改善健康、提升教育成效、創造經濟機遇及建設健康社區的基石。
隨著我們的城市變得更智慧、更安全及更有韌性，確保所有社區都能參與發展過程且「不讓任何人落後」至關重要。雖然房屋問題沒有簡單的解決方案，但只要政府、業界、非牟利機構及大眾齊心協力，便能帶來極具意義的改變。

Thank you to ReThink Hong Kong for inviting our CEO, Jo Hayes, to speak on the Affordable and Sustainable Housing at Speed panel last Thursday. 🏠
The discussion highlighted that Hong Kong's housing challenge goes beyond affordability alone. It is about ensuring homes are accessible, well-located, healthy, and suitable for everyday life.
Jo joined Dr Mckey Ho, Mr Ryan Ip, and Prof. Kelvin Wong for an engaging conversation moderated by Ms Rose Hung. Bringing together perspectives from policy, research, nonprofit, and public sectors, the panel explored how planning, financing, design, and maintenance decisions influence both housing attainability and quality of life.
One theme that Jo emphasised strongly was that housing should not be viewed as simply the outcome of a thriving society. Access to a safe, healthy, and affordable home is often the foundation that enables better health, educational outcomes, economic opportunity, and community wellbeing.
As our cities become smarter, safer, and more resilient, it is essential that all communities are included in the development process and that no one is left behind. While there may not be a simple solution to the housing challenge, meaningful progress is possible when government, industry, nonprofits, and communities work together.
