The Mexican Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong (MexCham HK) Welcomes a New President, Vice President, and Chairperson

Dear members and partners,

We are pleased to announce that at our Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Thursday, September 24, 2026, we welcomed Mr. Luis Abaid as the new President and Ms. Judy Wu as the new Vice President.

Outgoing President Ms. Yamilette Cano will transition to become Chairperson of MexCham HK.

Mr. Luis Abaid is a seasoned, widely recognized leader in talent engagement, communications, and employer branding, specializing in transforming organizational culture into a strategic driver of business performance. He brings valuable expertise and a strong track record to the team.

Luis has more than two decades of experience leading business and people transformation projects across Asia and Latin America.

He is also an accomplished photographer specializing in portraiture and fine art. Luis’s work has been exhibited in galleries and featured in print publications worldwide. His talent has also gained recognition on social media platforms, notably by Nikon Asia.

Luis takes the helm at MexCham HK, guiding the Chamber’s mission as a business and investment platform that connects Mexico with broader Latin America, Hong Kong, and the Chinese Mainland.

Ms. Judy Wu is a true third-culture kid who effortlessly brings together Latin American, Anglo-Saxon, and Chinese cultures with deep understanding. As a longtime private language instructor, translator, book editor, and travel expert, Judy has lived and worked across four continents, gaining invaluable global perspective and life experience.

Since joining MexCham HK in 2019, Judy has held several critical leadership roles, successfully bridged local and international networks, and worked closely alongside three past chamber presidents. From them, she has gained deep insights into cross-border governance, community building, and international relations.

As Vice President, Judy will draw on her diverse cultural background and multidisciplinary expertise to help strengthen economic, social, and cultural ties among Mexico, Hong Kong, and the Chinese Mainland.

Gloria Gamboa, a former brand content executive at Racing Cargo, is an industrial designer with an artistic mindset perfectly suited for today’s visually striking and impactful marketing world. She excels in user experience (UX) design, having coordinated large-scale events for company staff, managed exhibition marketing, and organized festivals focused on community engagement.

A native of the State of Veracruz, Mexico, Gloria arrived in Hong Kong in early 2025 and continues her work in brand creation and the creative direction of digital photography and videography.
