Watchdog Early Education Centre 監護者早期教育中心 It now operates two centres, one in Central and the other in Jordan.

Watchdog Early Education Centre, founded in 1983, is dedicated to providing intensive and well-rounded early intervention and therapy programming for English and Cantonese speaking children with special education needs under six. Founded in 1983, Watchdog is an early education centre providing intensive and well-rounded early intervention and therapy programming for English and Cantonese speaking

children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) aged from new born to six, helping them to achieve their full potential as early as possible. The children supported have a wide spectrum of challenges including speech delay, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. It offers psychological assessment, specialist teaching both on an individual basis or small group setting, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, and Music Therapy. It serves over 400 children annually.

「監護者」成立於1983年，專為操廣東話及英語初生至六歲的特殊兒童，提供深入而全面的早期教育與治療服務，盡早幫助他們充分發揮潛能。接受服務的兒童有著各種不同的症狀，包括言語發展遲緩、自閉症、大腦麻痺、唐氏綜合症、過度活躍症等。「監護者」提供心理評估、班組及個別專業教授、言語治療、職業治療、物理治療及音樂治療。現時開辦兩間中心，分別位於香港及佐敦，每年服務約三百名兒童。

👧Young🧒 and 👴Old Connect👵 老少同樂

This Easter, we held a fun remote activity across the young and the old💕.

With the support of student volunteers from Hong Kong International School and the American School of Hong Kong , some of our Watchdog children were connected with the elderly residents at SAGE Madame Ho Sin Hang Home for the Elderly. The children decorated beautiful notebooks 📙as gifts to the elderly, while the elderly reciprocated with their own decorated Easter eggs filled with candies and small toys .🧸

This meaningful exchange brought love and smiles across generations , highlighting the spirit of sharing and genuine connection among people. 🧩

🥚我們在剛過去的復活節舉辦了一次跨越空間、老少同樂的活動!🎉

在香港國際學校及香港美國學校的學生義工的協助下，中心的兒童與耆康會何善衡夫人敬老院的長者建立了無形的聯繫。兒童動手裝飾了精美的筆記簿送給長者作為禮物；而長者則回贈了自己親手裝飾的復活節彩蛋，裡面放滿了🍭糖果和小玩具。

🧩這次別具意義的交流跨越了兩代人，為各人帶來了愛與歡笑，展現了人與人之間彼此分享及連繫的精神。😇

✨ Watchdog Hong Kong Centre – Temporary Entrance🚪 ✨

New year, new beginnings! 🌱 We’re making progress at our Hong Kong Centre with the installation of a metal ramp at our entrance. 🚪♿️

Our Hong Kong Centre is part of the historic red brick building in Mid Levels — the Old British Military Hospital (1903–1907), a Grade I historic site in Hong Kong. 🏛️ Every refurbishment requires approval from the Antiquities Advisory Board, so construction may take longer, but it’s all worth it to preserve this heritage.

While we wait for our new entrance “look,” let’s take a moment to reflect on our journey: 📍 In 1983, Watchdog was located to the former wireless station on Bowen Drive, Central (near WWF). 📍 In 1984, we moved to our current home at G/F, Borrett Road, Mid Levels.

We’re upgrading our entrance! Until March 2026, parents and visitors please use the temporary entrance. A little step forward, but always moving ahead together! Thanks for growing with us!

新年新開始！ 我們的香港中心正在進行改善工程，在入口安裝金屬斜坡。🚪♿️
我們的中心位於半山的歷史紅磚建築 —— 舊英軍醫院（1903–1907），屬於香港一級歷史建築。🏛️ 每一次翻新都需要古物諮詢委員會的批准，因此施工時間可能較長，但為了保育這份珍貴的文化遺產，一切都是值得的。

在等待新入口「新面貌」的同時，讓我們回顧一下香港中心的歷程： 📍 1983年，「監護者」香港中心曾位於中環寶雲道前無線電站（近世界自然基金會）。 📍 1984年，我們搬遷至現址 —— 半山波老道地下。

The Watchdog Baby Playgroup is a 95 mins session designed for young children with low-functioning special educational needs (SEN). The setup and session content are flexible, engaging, and tailored to meet each child’s unique developmental needs in a fun and supportive environment. The session includes Physiotherapy, Special Needs Teacher Training and Music Therapy.

Discovery Bay Recreation Club has long been a charitable community💕, generously dedicating its manpower and resources to support those in need. We are honoured that Watchdog has been selected as one of the beneficiary charities for their upcoming 18th Charity Cup🥎🎾, taking place on 29th November 2025.

Team registration is now open🙌, and we’re excited to be part of this meaningful event. All proceeds raised will directly support our work with children with special needs in Hong Kong.

"Watchdog Ally" is a place for us to extend our care and support to the parents of our Watchdog alumni. We hope this little corner could bring our Watchdog alumni’s parents together to support each other as we navigate the different stages of our SEN children’s growth. We aim to organize different forms of activities, such as leisure activities or workshops. We have our very first activity which was Fluid Ink Ark Fun on 19/7/2025 which was a joyful and memorable time🤩.

Our Watchdog Caterpillar 🐛 and Butterfly🦋: Flutter

Earlier, our children had an experiential learning journey about LIFE! We introduced them to a special little friend, Flutter—a caterpillar we lovingly raised. While the transformation from caterpillar to pupa typically takes 2-3 weeks, Flutter took an extraordinary 2 months! Our patience was rewarded as Flutter finally emerged as a beautiful butterfly and took flight.🤩

With hearts full of joy, we say goodbye to Flutter, wishing him all the best in his future adventures! ❤️

Indeed, the same principle applies to raising a SEN child—it requires profound ⏰patience, 💕care, and unwavering HOPE🌈 as we nurture their growth and guide them on their unique journey.🎊

Life is full of surprises and wonders.
