To celebrate DutchCham’s 35th anniversary, we spoke with Tom Ros, founder and CEO of Techpro Group Ltd, who has been part of its story from the very beginning. In this special interview, Tom looks back on what brought him and his family to Hong Kong in 1999 and how joining the Dutch Business Association—now DutchCham—helped them build both a business and a life in the city.

Over the past 27 years, Tom has seen the Chamber evolve into a more professional and structured organisation, while still keeping its friendly, community‑driven spirit. Among his most memorable moments are Techpro Group’s early award recognition, being featured in the Chamber’s magazine, and later receiving sustainability‑related awards that reflect the company’s long‑term values. He continues to value events such as the China Seminar and company visits, and welcomes more opportunities for practical, on‑the‑ground experiences in the years ahead.

Two days, one theme: Sourcing & Trade in motion.

On Monday, we kicked off with a Sourcing & Trade Networking Cocktail at the Residence of the Consul General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, co-hosted with ProductIP. An evening full of energy, new connections, and great conversations.
