Inspiring Girls is an international charity which inspires and empowers the next generation of women

Inspiring Girls is a global charity that connects teenage girls with accomplished female role models from diverse fields to broaden their understanding of career possibilities and inspire their curiosity and learning in various industries. We offer free school programs in over 30 countries, including Hong Kong where we launched in 2020. With the support of more than 800 female role model volunteers and corporate sponsors such as HSBC Asset Management, BitMEX, Randstad, Societe General, HKEX, and Noble Panacea, we have reached over 2,000 female students in 20 schools across Hong Kong in the past two years, including Kowloon True Light School, St. Teresa Secondary School, Chinese Foundation School, Chinese YMCA College, NLSI Lui Kwok Pat Fong College, and Red Cross.

WRITE / SPEAK / GO ON STAGE

Every girl has a poem she hasn’t said out loud yet. This September, we want to hear it.

📝 Calling all Secondary school girls in Hong Kong: submit an original poem on this year’s theme, UNCHARTED: identity, hidden stories, personal connections. Record yourself reading it (video or audio) and scan the code on the carousel to enter. Deadline: September 4th.

The winner performs live on the TEDxTinHau Women stage at XiQu Center on October 2nd, gets 1-on-1 coaching from a professional TEDx coach, and the top 3 finalists become official TEDx Youth Ambassadors with a ticket to attend live.

Tayler found rugby through her dad: he played when she was young, and still does. He brought her to her first training at Sai Kung Stingrays when she was 14.

“I won’t lie, I wasn’t convinced to begin,” she says.

At 15, she nearly quit. Between a house move and juggling football, swimming and dance, rugby almost lost out, until a friend, Lily, convinced her to try HKFC. “I loved it instantly,” Tayler says. “The girls became my best friends.”

At 17, she moved up to senior rugby at her dad’s old club. “Everyone treated me like an adult,” she says, “but sometimes I needed a ‘Mum’ to guide me.” That’s where Carolyn Champion came in, “loud, fierce, and always looking out for me.”

“This scrunchie is my symbol of femininity in an aggressive and tough game” Tayler says. Her mum used to do her plaits before every match. Now the scrunchie keeps her close.

Twice in one story, someone reached out on purpose. Now it’s Tayler’s turn to pass it on by tagging three people close to her, each asked to fund one Empowering Kit (HK$250) addressed to the girl it’s for:

🔹 A personal note, written by the donor themselves
🔹 Addressed to a specific girl the donor nominates: someone close, someone they’ve watched and thought she could do this.

Somewhere along that chain are the two girls who’ll join Sandy Bay Rugby this season on a full membership.

Bigger reach is easy to celebrate 🎉

Harder, but far more important, is building the systems that make that reach actually mean something for each girl in the room.

🔥This year’s Career Fair had something new behind it: tools we built ourselves.
* A bilingual survey,
* a live points economy,
* a dashboard tracking engagement in real time, and
* a trail designed so one big event could still feel personal, one conversation at a time.

It’s part of how we’re growing: as we get bigger, so does our own capacity to build what we need in-house.

None of it, however, replaces the point of the day: a real conversation, between a girl and a role model, that actually happens✨

From sharing meaningful stories, to creating office experiences, to custom apps, we keep finding new ways to reach girls.

🎉 500+ girls showed up for Inspiring Girls Hong Kong Career Fair 2026 and by the end, everyone had a favourite moment. 📸

The scavenger hunt kicked things off, clues and points hunted down across EY One Taikoo Place, this year powered by our own app instead of printed maps. 🗺️📲
Stops on the scavenger hunt to collect points included:
👩‍🏫 Human Library: sitting down with Role Models who didn’t just share a job title, but the real story behind it
⏱️ 30-Second Expert: half a minute to become the expert in a field you’ve never touched. Nerve-wracking? Yes. Unforgettable? Also yes.
🎤 Pitch Competition — bold ideas, bigger confidence, judged live
💡 SolveHers Workshop & EmpowerHer Future — turning “what if” into “what’s next”

None of it happened without people showing up for these girls: our Role Models, who gave their time and honesty. Our NGO partners, who brought their networks. And EY, who opened their doors and gave us the room to make it real. 🙏
The energy in that room? Proof of what happens when you hand girls the mic, the map, and the space to try. 🚀

🌟 The Inspiring Girls Hong Kong Career Fair 2026 is officially a wrap and what an unforgettable day it was!

Over 500 girls and role models gathered at Ernst & Young’s office to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world careers. Because seeing a career from the outside and truly understanding what it takes are two very different things.

Here’s what made this year extra special:
💡 SolveHers Ideation Workshops: where girls tackled real challenges, not just theory.
📖 Human Library Sessions: honest, raw conversations with female role models sharing their real journeys.
💰 EmpowerHer Future: life size monopoly game for girls to learn how to manage their personal finance and invest in their dreams.
🚀 Pitch Competition: 20 teams of girls presented bold business ideas in front for our corporate partners HSBC Asset Management and Louis Vuitton in front of 3 esteemed judges Joanna Kalenska-Guiridlian, Serene Law and Ho Raymond.

A huge thank you to every girl who showed up with curiosity and courage, and to all the role models who generously shared their time and stories. You’re helping shape the next generation of leaders.

💫 Storytelling has the power to change a young girl’s life and last week, we witnessed the powerful first step toward that.

We had the absolute privilege of hosting a special edition of our campaign, bringing together an extraordinary group of role models for an intimate storytelling workshop. The goal? To equip these inspiring women with the tools to share their journeys in ways that truly resonate with the young teens in their lives.

Because visibility doesn’t stop at our programs, it ripples outward.
The women who courageously took the stage left every single one of us moved:
🏅 Stephanie Au, Olympic gold medalist, opened up about the mental health realities behind chasing excellence.
✨ Barbara Wang challenged every woman in the room to dream bigger, not just settle for what society expects of us.
🤝 Eleanor Coleman beautifully honoured the friends and mentors who showed up for her beyond professional boundaries; reminding us that role models come in every form.
💪 Carmen Chiu 趙嘉曼, our incredible board member, shared how her mother taught her to swim without floats and in doing so, taught her to be brave in the face of anything.
🌟 Jacqueline Yeung-Lam 楊林芷睿, one of our most passionate supporters of this campaign, spoke movingly about the role models who shaped her into the woman she is today.

Every story was unique. Every story was vulnerable. Every story was unforgettable.

These are the moments that remind us why community, visibility, and authentic storytelling are essential for empowering the next generation.
