Dear Members & Friends,
The Arab Chamber of Commerce & Industry wishes you Happy 1st of Muharram!
There are two days out of the year dedicated to a celebration called Eid, in the Islamic (Hijri) calendar. Eid ul-Fitr occurs at the end of the month of Ramadan each year, and Eid al-Adha, which occurs on the 10th, 11th and 12 of Dhul Hijjah, last month of the Islamic year.
On June 16, 2026, the Islamic New Year (1st of Muharram 1448) begins. The Islamic Hijri year is determined by the lunar cycle and the sighting of the new moon.
A common greeting for the Islamic New Year is “Happy New Hijri Year” or “Happy 1st of Muharram.” You can also say “Kullu ‘aam wa antum bi khair,” which translates to “May you be well every year.” If you are in a place where Eid al-Adha is being celebrated, you can also say “Eid Mubarak”.
Kullu aam wa-antum bi-khair!
