De Nederlandse Vereniging in Hong Kong heeft als doel de saamhorigheid van de in Hong Kong woonachtige Nederlanders te bevorderen. Er worden evenementen georganiseerd voor en door Nederlanders en mensen die affiniteiten hebben met Nederland. We houden de Nederlanders op de hoogte van al wat gaande is met behulp van e-mail nieuwsbrieven, onze Facebookpagina, deze website en het kwartaalmagazine Hol

landse Nieuwe. Als u lid wilt worden verzoeken wij u een email te sturen naar [email protected]. Vermeld in de e-mail de volgende gegevens (vanzelfsprekend voor zover van toepassing):

Na ontvangst van de e-mail wordt u ingeschreven als aspirantlid en sturen wij u een email met de betaalgegevens. Zodra de betaling van de contributie is ontvangen bent u daadwerkelijk lid. De contributie voor de Nederlandse Vereniging is als volgt:
Individueel lidmaatschap: HK$ 500 per jaar
Familie lidmaatschap (vanaf 2 pers.): HK$ 1100 per jaar
Studenten lidmaatschap: HK$ 250 per jaar
Het contributiejaar loopt van 1 september tot en met 31 augustus. WIJZIGINGEN PERSOONLIJKE GEGEVENS
Indien uw persoonlijke gegevens zijn gewijzigd (bijv. nieuw adres, gezinsuitbreiding) of als u uw lidmaatschap wilt beëindigen, verzoeken wij u dat per e-mail door te geven aan de ledenadministratie: [email protected].

Explore this historic neighborhood, then stop for drinks and a chat!

The "30 Houses" neighborhood is a historic residential district in Central Hong Kong, located between Caine Road, Staunton Street, Aberdeen Street, and Ladder Street.

During the walk, we explore how this area acquired its curious name; how it transformed from a barren hillside into a densely populated community filled with shops, markets, and workshops; how it is connected to the Dutch Consul's residence; and how a seemingly unrelated chain of events ultimately saved the neighbourhood from demolition.

The story of the "30 Houses" is also the story of Hong Kong's distinctive urban landscape and the resilient community that has made it their home.

The city walk will be led by Sjoerd Hoekstra. Sjoerd is the curator of the Friends of the Thirty Houses Neighbourhood. Founded together with heritage conservation advocate Katty Law, the society is dedicated to the conservation of the neighbourhood.
Sjoerd is co-founder of design consultancy Design For Culture; an adjunct associate professor at the University of Hong Kong and a long time Hong Kong resident.
