✅️ A 𝙈𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙞𝙛𝙪𝙣𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙧𝙤𝙡 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝘿𝙞𝙨𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙮 𝙐𝙣𝙞𝙩 (𝙈𝘾𝘿𝙐), sometimes called a Multipurpose Control and Display Unit, is a device that serves as the heart of an aircraft's 𝐅𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 (𝐅𝐌𝐒). The MCDU includes a keypad and a liquid-crystal display that allows a pilot to enter and modify flight plans.

The Multipurpose Control and Display Unit (MCDU) is the main interface for the flight crew to interact with the 𝐅𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐫 (𝐅𝐌𝐆𝐂). There are two independent MCDUs installed in the A320.

It works in conjunction with the flight management system and has a multifunction display-keyboard interface for data-entry and display of Flight Management System (FMS) data and other aircraft functions
