People and Places🌏: HKIA

When I first came in 2018 as a DTS student and saw mountains from the airplane, my initial thought was, “Wow, Hong Kong is beautiful!” Fast forward to 2021, when I entered the highly monitored airport during COVID for full-time staff, my thought was, “Wow, God is a miracle worker. He is beautiful!

The Hong Kong airport is a significant location for me because it symbolises God’s commitment to me, this city, and the world. It’s a place of hellos, goodbyes, losses, gains, transitions, and many paths being crossed, very much mirroring a part of my mission’s journey in Asia. Here is a window to seeing God’s loving kindness in the journey of life!

人與地🌏：香港國際機場

2018年我初次以DTS學員身分來到這裡，從飛機上望見群山時，我的第一反應是：「哇，香港真美！」快轉到2021年，我再次回到香港成為全職同工，那是疫情期間，進入高度管控的機場時，我的想法是：「哇，上帝是奇蹟的創造者。祂是如此美好！」

香港機場對我而言是一個極具意義的地方，因為它象徵著神對我、對這座城市，以及對全世界的應許。這裡充滿了相遇、離別、失去、獲得、轉變，以及無數交錯的人生軌跡，這與我在亞洲的宣教旅程有許多相似之處。這裡是一扇窗，讓我得以在生命的旅途中看見神的慈愛！

We moved! 🎉
After 30 years of being in the Shui Tau Tsuen village, God has now based us into the city, Kowloon! We are thankful for God’s faithfulness over the generations and anticipate how His light will shine ever so brightly here!

我們搬遷了！🎉
在水頭村度過了30年後，神帶領我們走進市區，安置我們在九龍！我們感謝神歷代以來的信實，並期待祂的光將在此地更加燦爛地照耀！

Hear from another one of our most recent DTS graduates, Billy, who is from the USA. As a first-timer in Asia, he learned so much from doing a DTS in Hong Kong!

“DTS helped me grow in patience, understanding and really grew my love for other cultures. I learnt by experience that cultural norms vary and I had to be willing to learn those differences and be ok with making mistakes. I also learnt to not feel embarrassed when those mistakes came up but to see those moments as learning opportunities. Those moments really deepened my love for people of any culture and I feel more capable when it comes to cross cultural communication.”
