To our wonderful participants, families, and friends,
What a privilege it is to have all of you with us today at our Chinese Calligraphy Workshop — part of our Community Shaper series.
Look around the room and you will see something truly beautiful: students from international schools sitting alongside grandmother in her eighties, each of them picking up a brush and discovering something new together. That image says more about community than words ever could.
Today is also a celebration of fellowship. We are joined by friends from different churches across different generations — united not by background or age, but by a shared desire to connect, to learn, and to encourage one another. In a world that so often pulls us apart, moments like this remind us how much we gain when we come together.
Chinese calligraphy is more than an art form. Each stroke carries centuries of culture, patience, and wisdom. By learning it today, our younger participants are not just practising a skill — they are receiving a living inheritance, passed gently from one generation to the next, right here in this room.
None of this would have been possible without the heart and dedication of our workshop instructor, Ms Lorita Lai. From her thoughtful and inspiring demonstrations to her warm and patient teaching, and from the careful planning behind every detail of today's arrangement — Lorita has poured herself into making this experience meaningful for every single one of us. We are deeply grateful for her generosity, her artistry, and her commitment to our community. Thank you, Lorita. 🙏
We believe our young people are not just the future of our community. They are shaping it right now — and today, they are doing so with ink, intention, and the quiet encouragement of those who came before them.
Thank you for being part of this journey with us. 🖌️
