Canefield/Enterprise Neighbourhood Democratic Council (NDC)

The Canefield/Enterprise NDC continues to work diligently to improve drainage and reduce flooding within our communities. These photos highlight the ongoing cleaning and desilting of the sideline trench at Canefield, East Canje, Berbice, which is essential for maintaining proper water flow and reducing water accumulation during periods of heavy rainfall.

The Council extends sincere thanks to MP.Zamal Hussain, the Regional Chairman, and the Regional Vice Chairman of Region No. 6 for their support and assistance in this important project.

Together, we continue working towards a cleaner, safer, and better community for all residents.

The Canefield/Enterprise Neighbourhood Democratic Council (NDC) is pleased to inform residents that the new garbage collection truck has commenced operations in the Canefield area.

This garbage truck was generously donated by the Ministry of Local Government and Regional Development to enhance waste collection services and improve environmental sanitation within our communities.

The Council remains committed to providing efficient and reliable services to all residents and encourages everyone to continue supporting efforts to keep our communities clean and healthy.

Canefield/Enterprise NDC

Community Enhancement Initiatives (CEI) workers were actively engaged in cleaning drains at Reliance Abandon, East Canje Berbice, as part of the ongoing effort to improve drainage and maintain a cleaner environment within the community.

These works are important in ensuring proper water flow and promoting a healthier and safer surroundings for residents. The NDC remains committed to serving the community through continuous maintenance and development works.

The Neighbourhood Democratic Council wishes to inform residents that drainage works are ongoing at Adelphi and Canefield New Area, where pumps are actively discharging water to reduce water levels in the community.

These efforts are part of continued measures to prevent flooding and ensure proper drainage within the district.

Residents are reminded to keep drains and waterways clear of debris, as blockages can significantly hinder drainage operations.

The NDC remains committed to protecting communities and maintaining effective drainage systems.

Canefield/Enterprise NDC

The Neighbourhood Democratic Council wishes to inform residents that councillors and workers carried out a pull-through exercise at the koker in Betsy Ground, using a tyre to clear the waterway and remove blockages.

This intervention was necessary to restore the free flow of water and prevent flooding in the area. Blocked kokers and drains continue to be a major issue due to improper disposal of waste.

Residents are being strongly urged to act responsibly and desist from dumping garbage in drains and waterways. This careless behavior affects the entire community and will not be tolerated.

The NDC remains committed to maintaining proper drainage and safeguarding residents from flooding.

Wishes to inform residents that ongoing construction work of a culvert is currently being carried out at Goed Bananen Land, East Canje, Berbice.

Residents are kindly advised to exercise caution when passing in the area and to cooperate with workers on site as efforts are being made to improve drainage and infrastructure within the community.

PUBLIC NOTICE

Residents are hereby informed that a fallen tree had blocked the road leading to the Adelphi Water Scheme, causing temporary disruption to access.

The issue has since been promptly addressed and the obstruction was successfully cleared by the NDC workers. The road is now fully accessible to the public.
