Linden 2025 fully and unequivocally celebrates the promise and potential of Linden; it accepts that that promise and potential must be quickly realized for the benefit and well-being of the citizens of Linden and to position Linden to meet its strategic role in the development of Guyana. Linden is strategically located in Guyana and is blessed with incredible human and natural resources: the curre
nt economic, social, cultural, environmental and physical state of Linden boggles the mind and challenges us to break out of this morass that has curtailed our self-expression and best responses. In ten years, by 2025, the children about to be born will be entering secondary school, the children entering secondary school this year’s will be in university or entering the work force; in 10 years those of us currently at the peak of our careers and working life will be retiring or preparing for second careers. Those of us now retired will need a stable secure community more than any other time in our lives. In 10 years the promise of Eldorado, the bounty of our exploited natural resources should be available to support prosperity and well being at every level of our community, down to the back alleys and the normally uncelebrated places. Good governance, visionary leadership, is critical to the actualization of Linden’s promise. Its absence, good governance and visionary leadership, are two of the primary contributory factors to the current state of Linden and its inability to meet its promise, so far. The upcoming local government elections present a unique opportunity for the Linden Community to select the leaders who are in sync with Linden 2025 and the desire of members of our community--for stability and prosperity. Linden 2025 invites you to join with us and celebrate the promise of Linden by participating in the Local Government elections and in selection of the Mayor, Councilors, and leaders that support a healthy, prosperous and sustainable community.
