BLACKOUT HAS A LESSON FOR US! 🖤

All the way from Rockstone, Region 10, this huge, handsome boy was neutered by the Foundation just 2 days ago.

Blackout may look like a little black panther 🐆, but there’s something even more important about him than his good looks — he can no longer father unwanted litters.

And that brings us to today’s question! 👇

A newborn kitten should be bottle-fed on its tummy, in a natural nursing position, with its head gently supported and slightly raised.

❌ Never feed a kitten on its back like a human baby. This can cause milk to enter the lungs, leading to aspiration and potentially serious complications.

These tiny babies are fragile, and how you feed them can be just as important as what you feed them. ❤️

MOSES SAYS THANK YOU!

Moses is one very grateful boy! He sends a huge thank you for the generous donation of food that helped fill his tummy and the tummies of his colony mates.

But the bowls don’t stay full for long.

Our stable, fixed colony of cats depends heavily on donations to keep them fed, cared for and healthy. They may be fixed and safe, but they still need to eat every single day. Another colony includes Alpha Canthony who eats like he's part dragon lol.

WHAT TO DO IF YOU SUSPECT HEAT STROKE IN YOUR PET ☀️

HEAT STROKE IS AN EMERGENCY. ACT FAST!

If your pet is excessively panting, drooling, weak, confused, vomiting, stumbling, having seizures or collapsing:

💦 1. START COOLING IMMEDIATELY
Move your pet into shade, a cool room or air-conditioning. Wet their body with cool or room-temperature water and use a fan if available.

💧 2. OFFER WATER
If your pet is awake and able to swallow, offer small amounts of cool water. Never force them to drink.

🚫 3. NO ICE OR ICE-COLD WATER
Avoid placing your pet in an ice bath or covering them with very cold, wet towels.

🚗 4. GET TO A VET — IMMEDIATELY
Even if your pet seems to recover, heat stroke can cause serious internal organ damage that may not be obvious right away.

❤️ DON'T WAIT. DON'T TAKE CHANCES.

Cool first. Get veterinary help fast.

DOGS DON’T SWEAT LIKE WE DO — KNOW THE SIGNS OF HEAT STROKE! ☀️

Did you know? Dogs cannot cool themselves by sweating the way humans do. They rely mainly on panting to release heat, which means they can overheat quickly—especially in hot, humid weather.

🐾 KNOW THE WARNING SIGNS:

🔴 Excessive, rapid or frantic panting
🔴 Heavy drooling
🔴 Bright red or abnormal-looking gums
🔴 Weakness or extreme tiredness
🔴 Vomiting or diarrhea
🔴 Stumbling or difficulty walking
🔴 Confusion or disorientation
🔴 Tremors or seizures
🔴 Collapse or unconsciousness

⚠️ HEAT STROKE IS AN EMERGENCY!

Don't wait for your dog to collapse. If you suspect heat stroke, move them to a cool area, begin gentle cooling with cool/room-temperature water, and seek veterinary care immediately.

Little Update on Our Former Foster Sunil 🐾

Oh, Sunil… you really had us worried. And then you went ahead and surprised us at every single turn. ❤️

First, we worried that we would never be able to socialize him. He was scared, unsure, and just wasn’t convinced that humans were all that wonderful.

Then came the next worry… would anyone ever want to adopt him? We hoped and prayed that the right person would see the sweet boy underneath all that uncertainty.

And then, when Sunil finally found his home, we had another worry…

Would he get along with the other cat? 😩

Well… Sunil had something to say about all of that.

“Watch me.” 😹

This boy has surprised us over and over again. He found his confidence. He found his family. And now he is proving that he can absolutely fit into his new life — including making friends with his feline housemate. 🥹❤️

We spent so much time worrying about Sunil’s future.

And now?

We’re just sitting back and loving every minute of watching him thrive. 🐾💕

Sometimes the animals we worry about the most are the ones who remind us that they just needed a little time, patience, love… and someone willing to believe in them.

Go Sunil! You’re doing beautifully. ❤️

LITTLE SPRITE UPDATE! 🧡

Remember our sweet boy Sprite? The little kitten who came into our care after being found abandoned in Diamond?🥹🐾

Sprite had quite the journey with us. Fostered by Donna Lam, he journeyed with her everywhere she went, even as far as Rockstone, Region 1, as all her bottle-fed babies do. Because of their rigid feeding schedule, they have to go everywhere she goes, whether for work or pleasure. But this never stopped this little guy from being the happiest, cheekiest Sprite around!

And now, one of the best parts of rescue… getting updates from our former fosters! ❤️

Sprite has grown into such a handsome boy, and it makes our hearts so happy to see him thriving in his new life. From the tiny, vulnerable kitten who needed someone to save him, to the confident little character he is today — this is exactly why we foster.

We don't just rescue them.
We give them a chance to grow, to trust, to love, and to have a life of their own. 🧡And Sprite? Well… Sprite has clearly decided that life is pretty good. 😻

Happy life, sweet Sprite. You will always be one of our babies. 🐾🧡
