Celebrating 60 years of Independence

This year marks 60 years since Guyana gained its independence, and as we celebrate our Diamond Jubilee, we proudly reflect on our rich and diverse heritage, the resilience that makes us Guyanese, and the unity that shapes our nation.

From every culture, every struggle, and every triumph, we stand together as one people and one nation with one destiny.

Raise your Golden Arrowhead high and celebrate the pride of being Guyanaese. This beautiful land is ours.

Hypertension Awareness

In observance of World Hypertension Day, which was observed yesterday, our Health Committee in collaboration with Dr. Suzette Reynolds of the Dorothy Bailey Health Centre, facilitated a radio discussion earlier today on NCN Radio 102.5 FM aimed at raising awareness on hypertension.

Dr. Reynolds educated listeners on the causes, complications, prevention, and management of hypertension, while encouraging healthier lifestyle choices through proper diet, regular exercise, stress management, and routine blood pressure checks.

Awareness is the first step toward prevention, and knowledge is key to healthier living.

Sincere thanks to NCN Guyana for hosting us, Dr. Reynolds for sharing your extensive knowledge and to everyone who tuned in to support this important initiative.

Small lifestyle changes today can lead to a healthier tomorrow, so prioritize your health.

The 46th MD60 Convention has come to a close, and our Lions were proud to represent in every aspect.

From attending to taking part in leadership development opportunities, the convention was a rewarding experience. Several of our Lions had the privilege of participating in the Regional Lions Leadership Institute (RLLI).

The Lions Club of Georgetown proudly recognizes the achievements of Ln Abiola Adams, Ln Elizabeth Mason, and Ln Jeanne Jeffry on successfully graduating from the RLLI.

We also acknowledge the outstanding service of Ln Debra Lewis, who was recognized by Multiple District 60 under the New Voices Initiative for Leadership.

Congratulations to all for your dedication, growth, and continued commitment to service.
