The bats are back!
Moray House Trust warmly welcomes anyone with an interest in art, cricket or storytelling to visit an exhibition of cricket bats that have been transformed into works of art. All items in the exhibition are for sale.

The exhibition will run from Saturday 5th September to Friday 11th September from 11.00 AM to 3.00 PM daily (Sunday 6th included).

This year the challenge issued to artists was to tell a story, to create a narrative on the bat. They were given three examples of Guyanese stories told via sculpture, song and poetry and encouraged to explore the possibilities of art as a narrative form, a means of communication.

The Guyana Prize Literary Festival concludes with Dramatic Night, a theatrical finale that transforms Guyanese literature into live performance.

Directed by Al Creighton Jnr. and performed by the National Drama Company of Guyana, the production features the stage plays August Morning and1823. Interwoven between performances are poetic tributes from the works of Ian McDonald—bringing together literature, history and poetry in a fitting close to Guyana's premier literary celebration.

Moray House Trust mourns the passing of Ian McDonald, a diligent and dedicated servant of Guyanese culture for over half a century. We extend deep sympathy to his wife and family, who should be extremely proud of the legacy he has left.

The session – Testimonies of the Enslaved – will appeal to anyone interested in Guyana’s history, especially those wishing to explore African ancestry through the use of archival resources. It is also a chance to share community and family memories as well as thoughts on the shaping of an international three-year project, Voices in Slavery’s Archive: Law, Place and Testament in British Guiana.
