​Our booth has been buzzing with energy as we welcome visitors from all walks of life!

From curious schoolchildren to local families and elders, it has been an absolute joy engaging with everyone, sharing the vital message of social harmony, mutual respect, and national unity.

𝐅𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 || Bridging Differences, Honouring History, and Standing Together - At the ERC-sponsored National Symposium on June 30, 2026, to mark Guyana's landmark 60th Independence Anniversary, representatives from both the government and the opposition came together to unveil the official Unity Pledge.

Moments like this remind us of the strength found in our shared identity and national purpose as we mark six decades of independence.

Today, September 3, 2026, our Hindu brothers and sisters observe Sri Krishn Janamashtmi. This significant day commemorates the eighth Avtar (incarnation) of Bhagwan Vishnu as Sri Krishn. Technically, Janamashtmi is observed on the eighth tithi during the Dark Paksha (fortnight) of the Hindu month of Bhado.

This observance is a reminder of hope and eventual success for those who consistently strive without compromising Dharma (established standards). It reassures us that we are divine beings with dignified characters and stability of life. As Bhagwan Sri Krishn re-established Dharma by His divine intervention, He rekindled the feeling of renewed human kindness and genuine relationships, and reawakened interest that had faded or weakened over time.

His service to the world, rendered without discrimination, reminds us that we must rebuild confidence in ourselves and in our fellow humankind, while restoring a feeling free of worry and anxiety. This is evident since He addressed and resolved each situation impartially and without prejudice.

As we reflect on this auspicious and divine Avtar, let us harmonise ourselves and serve without discrimination and distinction to lead our lives towards Divinity.

The Ethnic Relations Commission extends warm greetings to the Hindu community and to all Guyanese on this observance.

History, Culture, and Unity in full view || For the Berbice segment of the ERC Harmony Tour, parents and children visited the only open-air mosque in Guyana—the historic "Eidgah"—located in Cumberland Village, East Canje, Berbice.

Throughout August 2026, the Ethnic Relations Commission brought over 100 children and guardians together across Georgetown, Essequibo, and Berbice. These unique learning tours opened doors to a deeper understanding and appreciation of Guyana's rich ethnic and cultural diversity.
