UNEP / PAGE in Guyana

UNEP / PAGE in Guyana The Official page of the United Nations Environment Programme/Partnership for Action on Green Economy Coordination Office in Guyana.

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the voice for the environment within the United Nations system. UNEP's mission is to provide leadership and encourage partnership in caring for the environment by inspiring, informing, and enabling nations and peoples to improve their quality of life without compromising that of future generations. The Partnership for Action on Green Economy (PAGE

) was launched in 2013 as a response to the call at Rio+20 to support those countries wishing to embark on greener and more inclusive growth trajectories. PAGE brings together five United Nations agencies – the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), the International Labour Organization (ILO), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), and the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) – to provide integrated and holistic support to countries on eradicating poverty, increasing jobs and social equity, strengthening livelihoods and environmental stewardship and sustaining growth, ensuring coherence and avoiding duplication of efforts.
