roup of young people, mostly University of Guyana (UG) students at the time – calling themselves Students Against Sexual Orientation Discrimination. SASOD came into public sphere on June 7, 2003, when the group held a forum for parliamentarians on the inclusion of sexual orientation as grounds for discrimination in the Guyana constitution. SASOD seeks to have discriminatory laws repealed which criminalize Le***an, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) people, while advocating for the enactment of laws to protect the human rights of these marginalized. SASOD continues to be both proactive and responsive in supporting LGBT Guyanese by providing and linking these groups to services. Our home is Georgetown, Guyana.
