Ready to strengthen your navigation and field mapping skills?

The Guyana Mining School & Training Centre Inc. (GMSTCI) is accepting applications for its Map Reading & Navigation (GPS) Short Course, which will be conducted at the GGMC R&D Facility, Linden.

This six-week, in-person programme combines practical and theoretical instruction to equip participants with essential navigation skills used in the mining sector. Participants will learn to interpret topographic maps, locate and plot coordinates, navigate using GPS devices, and apply these skills in the field.

Course Details

- Start Date: July 6, 2026
- Duration: 6 Weeks
- Cost: Free
- Eligibility: Persons 18 years and older
- Venue: GGMC R&D Facility, Linden

Applications close on June 28, 2026. Interested persons are encouraged to scan the QR code on the flyer and apply early, as spaces are limited.

The Guyana Geology and Mines Commission (GGMC) will be hosting auctions of serviceable and unserviceable items at the following locations:

• Donkeys

💰 Registration Fee: $5,000

📝 Registration Opens: May 25, 2026
📝 Registration Closes: June 4, 2026

Interested persons may inspect items during the inspection period from May 25 – June 5, 2026, between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM daily.
