The Guam Preservation Trust (GPT) invites public, private, and charter school teachers from Guam’s elementary, middle, and high schools to apply for Project S.H.O.P. (Supporting Heritage Oriented Projects).

This funding opportunity is designed to help teachers bring Guam’s rich history, heritage, and CHamoru culture into the classroom through creative, hands-on learning experiences.

Through a simple application process, eligible teachers may receive up to $500 to purchase project supplies and educational materials that support classroom activities focused on Guam’s history, culture, and historic preservation.

Applications will be reviewed by GPT staff, and awards will be based on project quality, feasibility, and their ability to engage students in learning about Guam’s heritage. Rather than issuing funds directly to teachers, GPT will purchase the approved project supplies from the selected vendor on the teacher's behalf.

Through Project S.H.O.P., the Guam Preservation Trust hopes to strengthen place-based learning, inspire the next generation of cultural stewards, and expand students’ knowledge and appreciation of Guam’s history, CHamoru traditions, and cultural heritage.
