Rainbows for All Children is research based not for profit peer support group for children experiencing a loss of a significant loved one through a death, divorce, separation, incarceration, deployment, abandonment of a parent or a significant loved one, or children going through life altering crises. Rainbows has assisted over 15,500 children navigate their feelings of loss. Through Rainbows support group sessions, facilitated by trained and registered Rainbows volunteers, bereaved children are able to overcome their feelings of anger, confusion, sadness, lonely, scared, low self esteem and lack of trust to a more positive behavior and better attitude at school and at home. Through Rainbows, children are able to develop better understanding that they are not to be blamed for what has happened in their lives. Through their weekly sessions, they gain self-esteem and respect. They become more focus in their academic achievement, have better relationship with friends and family, have better acceptance of what has happened in their family and look at life with hope and wider horizons.
