Harvest House Harvest House is a ministry for foster children & families on Guam that provides for their physical needs, spiritual encouragement, and emotional support.

Accepting Donations:
Harvest House accepts gently used clothing from newborn-young adult sizes for children and teens in foster care. We also accept used child care necessity items, brand new hygiene products, and unopened diapers and wipes. We accept donations Monday-Thursday, 8am-4pm*
*There may be special days we are unable to accept due to holidays, event planning, or trainings. How Harvest House Started:
Before moving to Guam, Pastor Marty Herron and his wife Tami fostered a little boy in Michigan. He quickly became part of their family. They loved caring for this little boy and providing him with a stable home. A few years later, the Herron family was asked to lead Harvest Ministries on the island of Guam. While they were excited about this new ministry opportunity, they also faced the pain experienced by many foster parents as they had to say goodbye to their foster son. Although they had to leave a foster child behind, they didn’t leave their burden for the needy and orphaned. Soon members of Harvest started becoming involved with foster care. Out of a deep conviction that these needy children need the love of Christian families, they prayerfully started Harvest House. They wanted to fulfill the Biblical mandate found in James 1:27 – to care for the orphans and widows. Through Harvest House, we are now able to reach out to the abused, neglected, and abandoned children on Guam. Since 2009 various families have opened their homes and hearts to over twenty-two foster children. We currently have seven foster families at Harvest and hope to have thirteen new families join us in the coming years. Harvest House Mission Statement:
Helping children and teens on Guam develop a heart for God by providing a safe haven to help them grow physically, socially, mentally, and spiritually. What We Do:
Harvest House recruits, trains, and retains foster families through informational meetings, meeting physical needs through donations, and hosting annual events that benefit the foster child and family.

Have you ever thought, "I can't foster a baby. That's too much stuff to buy"?

Whether your kids have outgrown the baby stage or you don't have any kids of your own, we have what you need and then some!

Our generous donors have faithfully supplied foster families with the resources they need, easing the cost of the many things a new baby requires. We're grateful to be a part of passing them on to our foster parents.

We got to sit down with one of our foster and adoptive families and discuss some of the common questions and concerns regarding becoming a foster parent. Check out what they had to say:

❔What would you say to someone who is nervous about taking the first steps towards becoming a foster parent?

💬"I would say that I have been abundantly blessed by obeying the Lord's command to care for the orphan. The joy of getting to know, love and care for my fosters has far outweighed any challenges. His grace for the challenges is always sufficient, whether that's how they will treat my other children or uncertainty of them staying/leaving."
❔What would you say to someone who is afraid to foster due to not wanting to be heart-broken when a child leaves their home?

💬"The pain of their current situation should outweigh the potential pain we might feel if we say goodbye. Any time with a healthy home is better than staying in an unhealthy home, regardless of how long it is. Never underestimate the power of intentional, personal, and sacrificial relationships (even if they are short). God understood the pain of having to say goodbye when he offered his only Son so that we could be brought into his family."

Come sit for awhile.

There's not much we love more than to meet our foster parents right where they're at. Whether that's a cup of coffee, a long talk while picking out clothes, or playing with the children under your care. With each shopping appointment we want you to walk away with more than the clothes in your hand. We want you to walk away knowing you have a village in your corner.

We're so excited for part 2 of the Bill of Rights informational meeting. Attorney Jim Baldwin will be going in depth on the rights each foster child is entitled to according to Bill No. 139-38.
We encourage our foster parents to join us on September 8th at 1pm in our training center. We look forward to seeing you there.

There are currently over 60 children in shelters across our island.
When you support Harvest House you are partnering alongside the effort to provide love and support to the wonderful shelter staff, weekly playdates , and more foster homes which means less children in shelters.
