When the rains do not come ….the rains did not come and the first planting was completely lost- no harvest means no food on the table. Now the second planting is pretty much a loss too, the rains never started.
When they don’t have hardly anything to eat a tortilla may have to do for a meal, sometimes all day! But now the prices of corn has gone up in price because they are shipping it from across country. The worst and most devastating part is the loss of 2 consecutive crops. Usually if one doesn’t make they heavily depend on the second! News reports are showing children who are dying due to extreme malnutrition. I am so pleased to say that we’ve been able to supplement the families of the feeding centers with rice and lentils. Please pray for the precious families of the dry corridor. And if you would like to give extra please don’t hesitate.
