Just finished our 15th trip (our first trip was in 2019) to provide GI / endoscopy / colonoscopy care to the people of the Lago Atitlán region of Guatemala. We had an amazing medical team including nurses, tech, GI fellows, resident in IM, CRNAs, and gastroenterologists spending a week serving others. And, for the first time, we had a hepatologist offering state of the art care including the first ever Fibroscan in Guatemala to 59 patients to evaluate for fibrosis/cirrhosis and fatty liver. We did 51 procedures, saw 26 patients in GI clinic, and 59 patients in hepatology clinic! We will return with another team in June 2026 and November 2026!
