Sunday morning, Nov. 16th Frankie preached at in celebration of their 1st Anniversary of worshipping in their new facilities. (See videos in the comments). He preached from I Sam 7:12 “Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen. He named it Ebenezer, saying, “Thus far the Lord has helped us.” This church building is one of many evidences that the Lord has helped us. The service was followed by “Happy Birthday” song, cake cutting and meal served to all who were present.

Saturday night SOCHE began their celebrations for their 1st Anniversary of worshipping in their new facilities. My sister, Jeanne Wood and I were invited to join the ladies choir, singing in Spanish of course, a song we’ve known and sung since our childhood, “Onward Christian Soldiers.”

When Frankie and Pastor Demecio made the appr. 9 hour drive to Guatemala City to deliver the teams from the Harbor Worship Center and My United Church to the airport for their return flight home, my sister, Wood had arrived. I’m so happy to have her here with me! She is here with us now for the remainder of our trip, through Thanksgiving and until we all return back to the States together on December 7th. She arrived in time to help the women of the church prepare tamales as well as to practice with the ladies choir for the big 1st Anniversary Celebration of being in their new facilities.

We’ve had a busy month thus far and November isn’t over yet, so there’s more to come.

We were privileged to have pastors and members from both in Kingsland, Ga and in Pooler, GA to come work on the second story addition to the sanctuary at https://www.facebook.com/share/17Wsk4FLWb/?mibextid=wwXIfr
They blessed this pastor, his family, the members of this congregation, as well as the village, in so many ways… only heaven will reveal the seeds that were sown in love that will produce a bountiful harvest in God’s kingdom. They also attended services at where a year ago we celebrated together in the dedication of these facilities. (More to come about their 1st anniversary celebration). Here’s a short video recap of some of the memories created with this precious team.
