A little more catching up on our week in Magdalena Milpas Altas, Guatemala. We began Sunday with a morning worship service at Nueva Vida Church, followed by a traditional Guatemalan Pepian lunch made with love by our dear friends of the Hernandez Family and Terry's Banana Bread, a favorite among our Guatemalan friends and family. Mike Holmes delivered a moving devotion on brotherly love and forgiveness, and we concluded the day with ice cream at Sarita.

Reflecting on the past few days in Magdalena Milpas Altas, Guatemala...
On Thursday, we finished the house for Berahim and her two children. On Saturday, we celebrated with them and provided a donated food basket and water filter. It was a true blessing to build this home, a gift from God to this young single mother in need. It was also a wonderful experience for our team to have the opportunity to show this lovely family our love and support and to pray for them.

A summary of our first day of work: Following breakfast and a devotional time, we proceeded to Berahim's land to commence construction of her house. Prior to starting, we offered a prayer for God's blessing upon her home and for our efforts to be successful. As the photographs illustrate, the team erected one wall at a time and remarkably finished the house and roof within four hours. Tomorrow, they will install the electrical wiring, add trim, and complete the house. We plan to return on Saturday to dedicate the house and spend some time with the family.

Today has been a wonderful day for Butch Alcorn and Terry Alcorn of Eternal Impact Missions here in Magdalena Milpas Altas, Guatemala. We successfully completed all our planned tasks, which is a rare occurrence given the realities of life in Guatemala. We are now resting and preparing for more shopping in anticipation of our team from Joy Community Fellowship in Pitman joining us next Tuesday. Please stay tuned to see the wonderful things God has planned for each of us.
