STOVE MINISTRY

This ministry is important because many people cook in enclosed spaces with no outlet for the smoke. It is an unhealthy and unsafe environment, many women are spending the day bent over to cook on bricks or whatever they can find to build a fire on. The stoves have a ventilation system built in and they are able to cook on the stovetop without strain on their backs without fear of their little ones falling in the fire. It is also an open door to be able to share the Gospel in the homes we enter.

EL ARADO PROJECT

This church and feeding center have been part of the MANNA family for 10 years!!! In this community we feed about 70 kids a day as an average. For most of these kids this is the biggest, most nutritional meal of the day. These kids are very special and in need of lots of love so if you come and visit don’t be shy with them!

As for our staff, Ana our head cook has been there pretty much since we opened and Mirna has been with us for the last three years. We are so thankful for these ladies and their hearts of service. They love these kids and it shows in the way they care for each one of them and show up to give them a good meal every day.

We also have a trade school at this property that serves the men of this community teaching them auto body repair and welding. This is a skill that could truly be life changing for them if they put the work in. They also hold Bible study with the men who are involved with the program to be able to meet their spiritual need as well as giving them a means to meet their physical needs.

A prayer request we have for El Arado is that God would bring us the right Pastor to take the position that was recently left empty. We ask that you would join us in praying that God would lead us to the right person and that He would give us patience as we look. That God would give those filling the gaps right now the strength to carry the load for just a bit longer and that He would be glorified in it all.

BACKPACK PROJECT 2025

Day 3 of giving out backpacks for this year. We had the privilege of going to Ciudad Quetzal and working alongside Karen Kolb there to bless the kids of that community. We continue to thank God for everyone who joins us in this project to make it possible!

MANNA MISSIONARY

Kerri Roberts will be celebrating living here in Guatemala for a year at the end of this month! When God called her to Guatemala He put it on her heart to start an English ministry, something that she was very hesitant about doing. But she said “yes” knowing that God would equip her for it. In May of last year with the help of some of the other missionaries she started the ministry and watched how God showed up (and still does) every week. Something that she felt He wanted her to do was bring His love and Word while also having a fun environment to learn and grow in. She also works along side Kristen at the bakery getting to lead the women in Bible studies and grow their personal relationships with God.

Favorite Verse: 1 Corinthians 13:1-3

She says “When you say ‘yes’ to God, show up, and then get out of His way you will see His working in ways you may never have otherwise.”

Love has no language.

When teams come we watch as the language barriers break and people are able to communicate with people in so many ways without using words. We enjoy getting to see the teams bring so much joy to our kiddos just with simple acts of love and attention that they give them.

ZONE 3 FEEDING CENTER

This feeding center is a very special place. Pastor Hector and his family have been running it for the 8 years that it has been open and they have made an impact on countless families. This particular community is a squatter village in the city of Guatemala that is right outside the city dump. The people who live here dig through the trash to hopefully find some things to clean up and sell to have a source of income to be able to survive. It is an extremely hard life that they live and there isn’t a lot of hope to overcome that style of living.

We are so thankful that we are able to be a light to around 100 kids every day as we feed them and also give them hope as we share Jesus with them. These are special kids who need a little extra love and Pastor Hector alongside our cooks, Carmen and Francisca, pour it out every day. Will you pray with us for Hector, his family, Carmen and Francisca as they minister in this place?
