What are the two flaws that stop us from having the vision of the all-pervasive Divine Principle? Bhagawan clearly explains today, so that we may strive to remove these flaws.

From your point of view, an object may appear to be inert, but from the Vedic point of view, everything is Chaitanya (filled with consciousness). One may question if Chaitanya is all-pervasive, why is it not visible to the naked eye? You are all well aware of the fact that there is butter in every drop of milk. Can you deny its existence merely because it is not visible to the naked eye? The process of obtaining butter involves curdling the milk and then churning it. Man is unable to perceive this Chaitanya principle because of two defects: 1. He overlooks his innumerable mistakes; and 2. He magnifies the minutest mistake of others. One can attain divinity only when he stops hiding his mistakes and highlighting the faults of others. When these two flaws are removed from the heart, one verily becomes the embodiment of Divinity. It is a great sin to search for others’ faults. Instead, look for your own. Consider your smallest defect as a great blunder and try to rectify the same. Ignore the faults in others, however big they may be. Do not criticise others; instead, criticise and question yourself – Is this the way I should behave, having been born as a human being? True spiritual practice lies in finding out one’s own mistakes and correcting them.

¿Cuáles son los dos defectos que nos impiden percibir el Principio Divino omnipresente? Bhagavan lo explica claramente hoy, para que nos esforcemos por eliminar estas fallas.

Desde tu perspectiva, un objeto puede parecer inerte, pero desde el punto de vista védico, todo es Chaitanya (está lleno de conciencia). Uno podría preguntarse: Si Chaitanya está en todas partes, ¿por qué los ojos no pueden verla? Todos ustedes saben bien que hay mantequilla en cada gota de leche. ¿Pueden negar su existencia, simplemente porque no es visible a simple vista? El proceso para obtener mantequilla conlleva cuajar la leche y luego batirla. El ser humano es incapaz de percibir este principio de Chaitanya debido a dos defectos: 1. Pasa por alto sus propios innumerables errores; y 2. Magnifica hasta el más mínimo error de los demás. Uno solo puede alcanzar la divinidad cuando deja de esconder sus propios errores y de resaltar las faltas ajenas. Cuando estos dos defectos se eliminan del corazón, uno en verdad se convierte en la encarnación de la Divinidad. Es un gran pecado buscar las faltas de los demás. Mejor descubre tus propias fallas. Considera el más mínimo defecto que tengas como una torpeza enorme y trata de rectificarla. Ignora las faltas de los demás, por muy grandes que sean. No critiques a los demás; en cambio, critícate y cuestiónate a ti mismo, preguntando: «¿Es así como debo comportarme, habiendo nacido como ser humano?». La verdadera práctica espiritual consiste en encontrar los errores de uno mismo y corregirlos.

What is the true wealth that man should seek in life? Bhagawan lovingly answers and inspires us today so that we may aspire for it.

He is not a great ruler who possesses all kinds of wealth. The real Maharaja (great ruler) is one who has surrendered everything to the Divine. He is a tyagi (renunciant); he is a yogi (one who is in communion with the Divine). It is for this reason that in Uttar Pradesh, whatever sacred shrine you visit, you will find pilgrims greeting the sadhus and ascetics as Maharaj. They are hailed as Maharaj because they have renounced everything, taken refuge in the Lord, sought to merge in the Lord and practised spiritual disciplines for this purpose. Chaitanya declared: “My property is not ‘Sri’ but ‘Hari’. I value not Lakshmi (the Goddess of Wealth), but the Lord of Lakshmi (Vishnu).” If you aspire for the Lord, you will not suffer from any want. There is no greater wealth than love of the Lord. It is to acquire this supreme wealth that man has taken birth on earth.

¿Cuál es la verdadera riqueza que el hombre debe buscar en la vida? Bhagavan nos responde con amor, inspirándonos hoy para que aspiremos a ella.

Un gran gobernante no es aquel que posee toda clase de riquezas. El verdadero Maharaja (gran gobernante) es quien ha entregado todo al Ser Divino. Es un tyagi (renunciante); es un yogui (alguien que está en comunión con lo Divino). Por esta razón, en Uttar Pradesh [Estado del norte de la India], en cualquier santuario sagrado que se visite, uno encuentra peregrinos saludando a los sadhus [renunciantes] y a los ascetas llamándolos Maharaj. Se les llama Maharaj porque han renunciado a todo, se han refugiado en el Señor, han buscado fundirse en el Señor y practicado disciplinas espirituales con este propósito. Chaitanya declaró: «Mi riqueza no es ‘Sri’, sino ‘Hari’. No valoro a Lakshmi (la diosa de la riqueza), sino al Señor de Lakshmi (Vishnu)». Si aspiras a encontrarte con el Señor, no sufrirás carencia alguna. No existe mayor riqueza que el amor al Señor. Es para adquirir esta riqueza suprema que el ser humano ha nacido en la Tierra.

What makes the Gayatri Mantra significant and universal? Bhagawan reveals the profound glory behind this sacred mantra.

The Gayatri Mantra is a universal prayer that can be used by people of all climes and creeds. For it calls upon the glorious power that pervades the Sun and the three worlds to arouse, awaken, and strengthen the intelligence, so that it may lead to intense sadhana, and sadhana may lead to success. The falling of an eyelid over the eye makes a sound; the dropping of dew on a petal makes a sound. Any little agitation disturbing the calm is bound to produce sound; only, you may not be able to hear because the range of your ear is limited. The sound caused by the primal movement that resulted in the enveloping of Brahman by self-evolved illusion is the Pranava-shabdha or Om. The Gayatri is the elaboration of that Pranava, and so, it is now held so venerable that initiation into spiritual life is achieved by its contemplation. The sound of a mantra is as valuable as its meaning. The child in the cradle stops wailing as soon as the lullaby is sung; it may not carry any meaning; it may be a nonsensical rhyme or just a jingle, but it quietens, soothes the nerves, and induces sleep. In the case of the Gayatri, the meaning too is easy and profound. It does not ask for mercy or pardon; it asks for a clear intellect, so that the truth may be reflected therein correctly, without any disfigurement.
