⛰️COMUNICADO OFICIAL SOBRE REAPERTURA DEL VOLCÁN DE ACATENANGO, TU PARAÍSO EN LA TIERRA.
Municipalidad de Acatenango administrador del Volcán de Acatenango al público nacional e internacional hace de conocimiento el siguiente comunicado de reapertura del volcán.
Se enfatiza a las empresas touroperadoras:
1️⃣ NO OFREZCA SERVICIOS DE TRASLADO DE TURISTAS A CABALLO, eso es maltrato animal en un área con pendiente tan pronunciada.
2️⃣ Explique a sus clientes la importancia de no pernoctar en estructuras ilegales construidas con deforestación del volcán. Somos una zona sísmica con potencial de derrumbe.
3️⃣ No use altoparlantes o bocinas, aparte de perturbar el ambiente natural, puede distraerse de sus funciones para atender a sus clientes; como en los casos de manifestación de mal de montaña, pausas de hidratación, mareos, vómitos, paradas técnicas en sanitarios.
4️⃣ NO ABANDONE a sus clientes con ritmo lento. Según el reglamento usted tiene la responsabilidad de llevar un guía por cada siete turistas. De esta forma se pueden evitar tragedias.
5️⃣ No use senderos ilegales. Al usarlos promueve la deforestación y daños a los recursos naturales, Patrimonio Natural propiedad del Estado de Guatemala.
6️⃣ Se hace énfasis en que el acceso al Volcán de Fuego utilizando la ruta del Volcán de Acatenango está prohibido. Asimismo, aquellas agencias que sean sorprendidas utilizando rutas ilegales para realizar tours hacia el Volcán de Fuego serán sancionadas conforme a la ley.

⛰️OFFICIAL STATEMENT ON THE REOPENING OF THE ACATENANGO VOLCANO, YOUR PARADISE ON EARTH.
The Municipality of Acatenango, which manages the Acatenango Volcano for the national and international public, issues the following statement regarding the volcano’s reopening.
We emphasize the following to tour operators:
1️⃣ DO NOT OFFER TOURIST TRANSPORTATION SERVICES ON HORSEBACK; this constitutes animal abuse in an area with such steep slopes.
2️⃣ Explain to your clients the importance of not spending the night in illegal structures built using timber from deforested areas of the volcano. We are in a seismic zone with a risk of landslides.
3️⃣ Do not use loudspeakers or horns; aside from disturbing the natural environment, they can distract you from your duties in attending to your clients—such as in cases of altitude sickness, hydration breaks, dizziness, vomiting, or rest stops at restrooms.
4️⃣ DO NOT LEAVE behind clients who are walking slowly. According to regulations, you are responsible for providing one guide for every seven tourists. This helps prevent tragedies.
5️⃣ Do not use illegal trails. Using them promotes deforestation and damage to natural resources, which are part of Guatemala’s state-owned natural heritage.
