We envision children gaining concepts of reducing waste and reusing materials, ensuring generations of education in developing countries. Liters of Learning is a non-profit organization that strives to empower rural communities in developing countries (primarily Guatemala) by offering the tools required to build bottle schools – schools formed with plastic bottles filled with non-biodegradable trash. These projects benefit the children by having a safe and beautiful place conducive to learning, and also the environment by reducing non-recyclable waste. They strengthen community development by the immense cooperation needed in order to construct these institutions. We also aim to reduce the negative taboo that is unfortunately synonymous with education in some rural areas.
